To share, Opennet installed the TP in my place 5 weeks ago but have yet to activate the core network.

Coverage check says core network and backend testing will only be completed in Jan 13. Current prices for high speed cable plans are ridiculous.

Hi everyone,

I have a question here. Will I be able to use this TP when the ports are blocked by the trunking?

The installation by SingTel is set for next week.

If not, what are my options?

Thank you very much!

How come the contractors do until like that? :s22:

There might be a problem with the plugging of the fibre cable.

Actually the contractors could have used the top entrance of the box and left the bottom entrance empty.

I think it may not b totally blocked... kindly find the below picture & zoom in2 this TP's bottom...
010_8589.jpg

u may try & see if u can pull out & plug in its Green Plugs?? if can, then observe whether the trunking did cover the Fibre port/hole...
If the trunking didn't cover the Fibre port, then i think u still can connect the Fibre cable's plug in2 it...

opennet website show anything?

Opennet website show this msg:
Your residential premise is tentatively scheduled for optical fibre network installation after June 2012. If you have yet to hear from us by end 2012, please be assured that you will still enjoy the first time free installation by signing up for fibre broadband services with your preferred retail service provider.

Then i emailed them. Got this reply:
Thank you for your email.

Kindly note we are unable to confirm the date for the fibre installation in your premise because the schedule is not available yet. However, the rollout schedule is subject to change as the fibre installation is based in the order of postal codes and the availability of existing network resources.

Once the rollout is completed, you and the other residents will then receive our letter of offer prior to the installation. At the momentt, we confirm that the letter has not been mailed out yet. This might be because the free installation for your house is scheduled for the later part of the targeted period.

You may visit our website for schedule update at Fibre Optic | Optical Fiber Cable | High Speed Broadband Connection. Should you have further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us at 6563 4273.

We seek your patience in the meantime.

Surprisingly I've got the termination point since 2010. But I still can't use it ! Every time I try to sign up over the last two years have been met with replies from the ISP saying my house is not hooked up yet when the opposite is true !
Can anyone full me in ? I've emailed the open net team but alas there was no reply :-/

Try posting on Opennet's facebook page. I emailed them last week about a different matter and received a reply within 3 working days.

I just got my TP installed this Monday 12/11/2012.
When can I start signup with fibre service provider?

Intending to sign up during Sitex if there is a good deal but afraid that I make a wasted trip if my TP is not activated yet cos I read that the service providers cannot do anything or sign you up if they checked that your TP is not activated.

Anyone with similar experience to share?

did that, their message was that my block will be undergoing TP installation during this period. Nothing specific about whether my unit is ready for suscription.
Check again at the end of the "period". They don't update their records on daily basis.

Edidt: That was my experience.

Normally 3 weeks after installation can subscribe to services.
