Hey guys, can anyone staying in a Maisonette describe their OpenNet installation? I'm having difficulties finding the best spot for the Terminal point.

Improvements on FTP Deployment

It seems the complaints and comments made have yield improvements on deployment of the Fiber Termination Point.

Here is a list of the improvements:

1. Photos taken of the installed FTP,
2. Photos taken of the measurement meter readings,
3. Measurement readings hand written on the "Fibre Installation Service Report" sheet after actual measurement being done (no more pre-printed fake measurement readings).

There are still areas of improvements:

1. Communications - Sufficient advance notice to inform RSP and Customer of appointment schedule. 24 hours or less is NOT acceptable and customer should reserve the rights to reject under such circumstances without being threaten (eg. threaten of extra charges).

Got my TP's 2nd Port activated today. Basically Opennet added one more fibre line outside my home and connected it to my home's TP 2nd port.

Anyway, the signal strength reading of the 2nd port is better then the first's.

1310nm : 0.44dB
1490nm : 0.36dB
1550nm : 0.30dB

1st port signal stength below

1310nm : 0.63dB
1490nm : 0.59dB
1550nm : 0.50dB

Yes I have 2 active port. The second port is in used by ViewQwest's ONT cum router. The first port is no longer used but still leased to Nucleus Connect for 8 months or so.

Doubt you can plug your own RG to it

Nope, you can't. Don't have the ONT in any case.

Around 6 weeks, but u can check the website by putting in your household address (all the way to the unit number):
OpenNet » Coverage Check

If it's not ready, the message will be:
"OpenNet is in the midst of deploying the Next Gen NBN to your building..."

If it's ready, the message will be:
"Your residential premise is ready for Next Gen NBN services..."

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but is there a service provider that includes free installation of fibre broadband point in my flat? I've recently moved into my HDB flat but the previous owner never take up Opennet's offer on installation :(
