Hmm the problem is that I don't even have the red dot showing, whereas WhatsApp, etc do show the number badge on the app icon itself, so just wondering if there's issue on the launcher

I managed to understand the situation on why they badges icon won't show on some apps. If we set the badges settings to "number", not all the apps will show the numbers when messages in, but if we set to the original "dot" as notification, all the apps will display the red dot whenever theres an update.

This sounds either a bug or this feature is not really well polished for the stock launcher.
