Anyone here used Oppo Mirror 5s phone before? I realise this is the thread for R7 but I can't seem to find any reviews on this phone.

My dad's keen on getting one cos he needs a dual sim phone. He prefers 5 inch screen and cost <$300. Too big a screen and he says hard to keep in pants pocket.

Also wants a better camera phone than what he has now, some really low end Samsung Trent (china only model) which doesn't have a good camera. Frankly any camera phone I think would be an upgrade over what he has now...

It only has 3 mp cam so it really can't be any good. Most smartphones now have at least 5 mp cams. Oppo Mirror 5s' front cam already has 5 mp and its rear cam has 8 mp so it's definitely better. Or u can consider Asus Zenfone 2 Go or Zenfone 2 Laser (5" version) which is coming soon.. they both are sub $300 5" phones and have 8 mp rear cams.

Considering the R7 for my father but the button placement is one thing that annoys me because it goes the unconventional way of power button at left side and volume button at right side, which would mean he has to re-adapt from his current Galaxy phone..

My dad's been using the phone for about a month and he hasn't complained about the button placement (previous Samsung user too). He concurrently still uses S3 for emails, don't think he's set up his Oppa to read work emails yet.

What I don't like about the phone is that the 2nd sim slot can't be used concurrently with an external SD card. So far my dad's complaints have been related to storage use, spell check, keyboard etc. He said the stock keyboard for Chinese input is different from Samsung

Thanks for your offer. I am still shopping around for this R7 plus. The reason I ask about the warranty in this thread is because there are shops selling ranging $30 - $99 off retail price. I also did email Oppo but till date no reply from them.

Just to share with guys who may have the same concern as me.

Just got a reply from OPPO. Basically as long as we purchase the phone locally, OPPO service center may claim the warranty. (I just highlight the keyword in OPPO reply )

As for claim of warranty, we just need to bring the receipt and warranty card. Hope this helps

Thanks for the share! Trying to minimize the extra adapting effort he needs to so trying to find a similar phone that is is around 5 inch and below that has a similar button placement as his Galaxy phone now.

Other than the size what are the differences btw oppo r7 plus and the r7s? which one is a better choice if i were to jump ship from the big s to this big o ?
