PC Hang at startup. Please help

It just means that the mobo battery is dead.

I found the seagate seatools inside when i load the pc wif the Hiren's Boot CD. Now scanning my hdd for bad sector.

Hopefully i can be able to repair it and can boot normally. Then i will backup all my files.

i think cmos no battery..

try buy a new cmos battery

u don nid to boot up to backup hdd, just take the hdd plug it to another comp and copy all the files lor.

Download seagate tools

enter DOS mode run Seagate tools and scan for bad sector.

Hi, I tried the sea tools and clicked the 'long scan' a through check for bad sectors. After about 45 mins of testing, - It said don have bad sectors and Test Passed.

I have changed the motherboard battery and go bios enter date and time and saved changes. But it still hang.

Then i go bios n see the settings... to see if i can do something.


Then i see my hdd is set IDE - 'Enhanced'.



I changed to 'Compatible'.

Now the windows can start normally. Seriously i dunno wat it the logic or wat i did.

Only thing is tat now it takes longer than usual to startup and go into windows. Loading so slowly


Mever mind. I will backup all my files tomoro. Ard 2 months later i will build a new pc

how long have u been using that hdd? if its more than 3 yrs the performance will drop significantly (just to share from my experience). so its safer to back up everything in case it completely broke down.

I have been using it for 4++ yrs.
