Altec Lansing is out of business liao ?
back then, it was my go to brand for PC speakers

Most of the audio brands of our era either out of biz or no longer popular due to cheaper chifi or better marketing from other brands. Eg ultimate ears, shure, westone

Nowadays is jbl, sonos, edifier?

I have 2 pairs of edifiers at home, 1 for the study room PC and 1 in living room for streaming spotify from the phone. good bang for the buck

also got 1 portable jbl for picnic and swimming pool, but seldom use

Yes, edifier indeed good value. I only have a pair of edifier pc speakers

Used to have harman kardon and jbl, kinda expensive and not worth the money these days

Bro where can we buy these?
can try Creative online store but wait for Xmas offer (signup for their email newsletter to get notification), should have online discount but best to go store listen/audition first.

if you mean specifically Creative Pebble I dunno but can try Challenger or big electronic store. If got PC Show/Comex these few weeks can go Creative should have a physical booth.

Alternatively can email or call Creative to see whether they have any roadshow or where can demo their product.

Cant find pebble v3 to compare but Plus 2.1 vs G2000

Then G2000 vs 1280

Found a pebble v3 vs lower end of Edifier R33BT

Note that these are all reproduced compressed sound by youtube, and probably need at least some decent speaker to hear to difference

Creative presence in retail stores is almost non existent now. Only saw a few Creative tws in Popular, can't recall if Challenger is carrying Creative

A fairer comparison would be vs Edifier r19u/r19bt?

Anyway, as what you mentioned, pc speakers are for casual listening only. Just get some a pair of ok speakers will do, save the money and spend it on another pair of decent speakers for living room or dedicated AV room

Received & set up my Edifier R1280dbs, indeed it's good value and wow-ed by it, better clarity than my Harman kardon onyx studio, similar bass, main boost now is stereo for better entertainment enjoyment.

Initially hooked up via monitor's 3.5mm and had average sound and disappointing bass, ain't sure why maybe due to sound from DP. After trying plug direct to CPU with same cable then the true capabilities shines.

Abit big though, have to adjust my monitor higher & placed vertically... may have to consider reposition again in future
