lemme relate my experience. I have been learning pop piano form yamaha for close to a yr, yet i dun find myself improve despite practising. Lessons are just the teacher playing the tune for me and then seeing me play....somehow i dun get to learn the techniques very well... Any recommendations on good teacher in school?

Sighz its so hard to learn as an adult lor.

i do give free trial lessons. Visit my blog for more details or pm me. :)

i went thru the site.. seems promising enough, i have a teacher myself and i really expects more from her for some time already.... its been almost 2 yrs since my first lesson.. im now grade7 but i think the main reason tat kept me goin is my own passion for music...

wanna share tis with every1.. ppl have their own ways to keep themselves motivated.... i watch ppl play some of my favourite songs on youtube and it really kept me motivated.. even my frens are doing the same now, by doing so, i get motivated to learn the pcs and as time goes by.. i strengthen my sight-reading

If u guys are above 17 and have been longing to learn piano, go ahead!!! my only regret is i didn;t start earlier

actually i thot if i started earlier, i may not have improve as fast as when i started learning older... Becos i only get to understand music stuff at a later stage. Started to appreciate music like pop, classical nearly after 18. If i learned at 13-14 hmm dun think i can make it. sure no interest one.

hmm... quite true... my teacher mentioned adults, or mid teens can learn better.. be it theory wise or practical.. since we have better maths background... time signatures shouldn't be a problem, and adults can feel music better than kids... they juz play, not knowing wad they're playing(of coz there're exceptions)

that's y when children starts young, their maths will be better.
Some parents wan their children to start young so that they can complete grade 8 b4 O'levels. As for adult beginners, always complain no time. Most important is self discipline and self motivation.

digital piano seriously lack in touch, i suggest when u're gettin 1, get ur teacher to go with u to help u choose.. most beginners won;t understand the meaning of "lousy key touch" until when they tried real pianos and tats when they will start to regret.

why disklaviers series? for beginners... approx how much will it cost for lessons+budget keyboard?

btw im mid20s, if i put in the effort to self-learn music theory/the works, should be ok rite?
