428 @Sitex

Bought my 428 @ Sitex yesterday for S$1899 from HN Booth (24 Months 0% installment, 1+2 Yrs Warranty, HDMI Cable and Pioneer Headphone). I asked for more freebies or reduce price, he decline to reduce price further and asked what freebies I want and he can check with the Manager. I did not really know what to ask for and saw something scrible on the Hourly sale ( free headphone) and asked for it and he checked with his manager and readily offered.
Came back home thinking could have asked for extra 2yrs warranty.
Well.. quite happy with the purchase.
Delivery is n Wednesday 3rd Dec 2008. I insist on getting early as the cashier was telling only can deliver by 12th Dec.

Pioneer KRP-500A

Hi all,

Just wanted to ask if anybody here has bought the Pioneer KRP-500A?

What price did you buy it at?

What is your experience so far?

I'm super tempted with the panel, but it is definitely on the pricey side.

However, this 9th generation panel looks like it is going to be the definitive HDTV panel for the next few years.

Try this:

But if you are trying to save money, try Panasonic or the other more value brands. Pioneer is not going to be cheap

Pioneer KRP-500A

Weird, thought I posted a thread on this but don't think the forum logged it.

Anyway, I was asking if anybody here has bought a Pioneer KRP-500A?

I am quite interested in this panel but I was wondering about the experiences of others before me.

How much did you pay for the panel?

What are the experiences you can relate on this latest Pioneer offering?

Thanks!

Thanks. Yeah, the price is nuts, but I have seen the panels and there is no contest when compared with other models.

Congrats on your new purchase. :)
My family got a 508 during this show. Regarding the 4th & 5th year warranty, you can bring your receipt to HN stores to purchase it. Just to share my opinion on the 4th & 5th year warranty... I had wanted to get it too. However, my brother said that should any flaw showed up after 3 years, we can always buy a new one. By then, the price will be even more attractive, and the display sets will feature more high-end technology.

Enjoy your Pioneer :)

Hi all, I would like some advise. My 428XG is arriving tomorrow, so do I need to run in the screen to avoid burn in images? I know it has been said before that there are settings to prevent this, but the salesman my family talked to said that this screen apparently does not require any run in due to superior technology.

So do I listen to him or I continue to do a proper run in?

Thx

Is it possible to use tv remote to control basic function of DVD player?

Yes, I can control DVR-560 using Kuro's control. Using the Kuro's control, I have to select the DVR/DVD mode. Then in my case, I have to re-program the DVR/DVD mode to transmit signal to DVR-560 by entering the appropriate manufacturer's code.

1) Select DVR/DVD mode (directly below volume control on my 508's control)
2) Wait for the LED light that indicates DVR/DVD mode to go off. (ard 2 sec)
3) Press and hold "Select" button, and then press "1" on the remote.
4) LED light indicating DVR/DVD mode flashes.
5) Enter appropriate manufacture's code. (100 or 101 for your case, if I am right)
6) LED light indicating DVR/DVD mode lights up for ard 1 sec, then goes off.
7) Programming is complete.

Hope this help. These steps can be found in my TV manual, under chapter "using with other equipment". :)

After reading the manuals,is it possible as well to control our Starhub set top box using pioneer kuro remote?
I've tried all manufacturer code for STB but none of them seems to work

Pioneer PDP-LX5090

Hi, I wonder if the Pioneer PDP-LX5090 is not released in Singapore. It's Pioneer's first 9th Generation 50" plasma TV. It's much cheaper than the KRP-500A, but almost as good. I have seen it in Europe, but never here in Singapore. Anyone if that's the case, and if so, why?
