Got my KRP-500A delivered and set up today.

Gotta say that the picture is amazing. Definitely one of the best buys around.

Dear Kuro lovers,

Notice the UK Pioneer PDF manual includes the KRP-SE01 colour sensor as part of the accessory,
However, our region set says it is optional.

Can any owners confirm this? Thanks!

Looks like the last of the Pioneer plasmas available may only be disply sets.

Have run my KRP-500A in and the picture is amazing. Colours and depth truly something to behold.

Had some issues of my warranty card being lost in the mail but sorted it out by calling Pioneer's service hotline. Exceptional service.

Finally got my Kuro fixed up 2day. Must really say it's really damm pleasing to the eyes and display is awesome! Very good and powerful tv I must say. All in default settings as recommended and set by the pioneer installers. Was told by them after 100 to 200 hrs of run in then adjust your own settings to yr preference. Now, my HTPC headache...

Just wondering if anyone in Singapore actually did calibration to their Pioneer Plasma. I am thinking of doing calibration (via ControlCal) as i read it can make true difference between a KURO Reference Plasma (KRP) and a Pioneer Plasma...

Interested to get mine calibrated too, but don't know of any good calibrators around...

Yah...man..
Look like i got to use the Digital Video Essentials (Bluray) to calibrate....i heard that often then not it will result in over-saturation of the colors.... well at least it better then not calibrated.

Pioneer Kuro 500A

Dear Moderator and fellow Pioneer owners,

I will be getting my 500A this Saturday, (having read through the long thread), is there anything that I should be looking out for, other than the following:

1) Panels to be manufactured in 2009
2) It is not opened
3) No double sticker (Proof of purchase seal)

Any Advice?

Thank you,
Bee

Hi,

You can try Audio House.

Not sure if they still have the promotion?

Got the 50" at 3999.

Hope this helps,
Bee

You can approach Pioneer for their ISF calibrators and they will also advise you on the cost.

I have contacted Pioneer.
It seem that they dont do ISF Calibration.
Any other ideas or it look like might have to DIY. :) (not sure if it would void the warrenty)
