Wanting to get the F5 for my mum to change her old Poco X3.

For price ard $300-$400. If F5 the best ard within the xiaomi brand family?

Size to remain at 6.67" or bigger. Better camera if possible.

Any other intro?

Thank you.

If your mum is not a heavy user, look out for Xiaomi 12 again at just over $300.

It is afterall a 2 year old flagship phone with a good screen and cameras.

Other than the chip overheating if one loads heavy app or games on it, it should be fine generally.

POCO phones use cheaper parts and I know this since I bought POCO F3 for my dad in 2020 - he is using the Xiaomi 12 now.

Still got Xiaomi 12 selling at official store? I cannot find it, despite the chip having problem, it is still good for the camera taking with the equipped Sony IMX 766 sensor.

actually I would avoid buying Poco but go for xiaomi 13t for a few reasons:
1) if we were to go JB and buy accessories like screen protector or battery replacement there will be a lack of it
2) the screen quality will be better (own 2880hz)

Online should have plenty accessories to buy. Cheaper than Malaysia.

I feel f5 screen is good enough. I don't think his mother will even notice any difference. It is like very good screen vs extremely good screen. Nitpicking?

So pd requires protocol, but gan no need protocol n yet can immediately use the highest watt or voltage that is meant for the device?

You can ignore the term GaN if you worry about whether it will fast charge your phone or not, PD is what you need to know.

GaN is the one that determine the size of your big ass charger lol It enable the charger to be compact.

Different companies have different protocols to achieve their idea of fast charge so it depend if the charger companies provide the protocol (most should if its popular enough) Though like chaiscool said, it's probably just the watt though i'm not sure, its rather complicating cos there was one that can says 45W but can't charge S22U at 45W haha.

Just check, maybe its the total ports that support total 65W not 1 of the port that can give you the 65W if only that port is plugged in.

yes the ports and internal components matters, have to check the detailed specs (especially for multi ports) like shared ports wattage, individual port limit when xx ports in used etc.
important to check reviews too especially for powering laptop/cpu etc for possible power reset / wattage changing when other certain port(s) is/are plugged in on-the-go (which may cause power outage), which is why its better to go for single port for certain devices instead

Nowadays buy charger also damm complicated 😂 That's why most of the time i just see if the phone is supported then will safely assume models similar or generations before and after should be fine. I don't have a laptop using USB-C to charge yet, until then i wil do another research again. Right now i'm just using to charge my phones and tablet so should be fine. Using a 65W by UGREEN but it's the older non-GaN model and it's a little huge.
