I have been using X3 for YouTube podcast. What would be a good camera upgrade? Would be nice to continue with XM but open to other Android phones too.

Pretty much any phone released from 2023 is considered camera upgrade from X3... Depends on your budget.

Mister Mobile called me already, went down and bad news cannot be repaired. The staff mentioned something about motherboard dead. I further asked if they think bringing to Xiaomi Service Centre helps, and the MM staff says that Xiaomi usual practice will wipe out data. Then it will defeat purpose of my interest to retrieve data.

I really hope to revive my X3 Pro if possible. I have sentimental sms, pictures I really hope to take back. Also I cannot remember to login to my IG accounts, bank ID accounts too. So though I am temporary using Poco F1 as backup now, but apps wise I am crippled too...

Anyone has "god level" hp repair place I can give it one more try?
My Poco x3 Pro just die, after I reboot the phone during kernel installation.

I disassemble it, continuously replug the battery and repetitively attempt to boot it into recovery. After numerous attempt, I finally succeed and took out the data. I then try to format it by flashing it with mi tool, it simply hang and go dead again. I guess the CPU is partially dead, actions that use certain CPU instructions set will cause it to hang.

It is said that attempt to reflow the CPU by heating up the motherboard can temporarily fix it, you would need heat gun or an oven. A more permanent fix will be reball the CPU. I think that any repair shop that do reballing can fix the CPU. Reballing basically is re-solder the CPU. If you going for reball option, let me know the price too, I might want to fix this phone to use as temporary backup.

Wah my family’s X3 NFC has been bugging out from time to time and recovers after a reboot.

Will ask them to make a backup of their data as it seems from what others shared here of the phone dying.

Thanks for the heads up.

Recently my X3 keep going into bootloop. I don't dare to use it to tap SimplyGo on public transport now since dunno when it will bootloop again suddenly.

The battery has also started bloating.

Buy batter from Shopee/Lazada and replace.
Try a factory reset?

My experience is once battery is bloating, stop using liao. If I remember correctly, xiaomi provides new battery for a fee. If you are OK with the phone and maybe not the cheapest compared to neighbourhood shop, I would advise going to their service centre. To be honest I am all satisfied with my X3 Pro, but it didn't suddenly died and I have to end it. Some bros here mentioned likely just motherboard balling but no local shops dare / can do.

For battery replacement, I just go to any local shop to do it. Not worth the trouble doing it yourself unless the model is super unique. Battery has very high shipping costs.
