F4 is not a improvement over f3 .
2nd hand f3 probably need battery replacement depends on user usage.

Probably TopUp get Redmi note 12 turbo 1tb 16gb @ ~400 .
2nd hand F3 is still around $300, after factoring cost of servicing and battery replacement, it's cheaper to just get the F4 which is currently at $309 (128 gb) outside of sale period and that has warranty, it's even cheaper during sale with extra discounts.

Sucks that the macro camera gets a huge downgrade but there are improvement in other areas.

The Redmi Note 12 Turbo 1tb isn't available in singapore officially, so no warrenty, assuming you can even find a legit seller, the $400 price you find online is usually in USD and after import tax and stuff, it will end up around $600 SGD

On the other hand, the rebranded poco edition, F5 is limited to 256gb at around $450 before additional discount.

Not true . .

Prices is in sgd shopee and I just bought it.

600sgd is k60 ultra pricing .

China rom has longer android support supposedly compared to Poco counterpart nowadays for some reason .

That's no point of getting a f4 256 8gb @ 300 or less if china rom 1tb 16gb f5 cost ard 400 .

F4 is obsolete model already not recommend .

It is around $600 without warrenty and from questionable sellers.

and the few under $500 has week plus long pre-order, probably because nobody actually has stock on hand and it has to go through a chain of sellers to some backdoor channel.

Let us know if and when it your $400 phone arrives, assuming it's real and not 2nd hand, stolen or a rejected batch.

beside, if one is not willing to pay around $450 for the f5 fron a legit source with warrenty, the f4 with the snapdragon 870 + UFS 3.1 is still powerful enough, unlike 695 or some other crappy phone around $300.

to call the 870 'obsolete' would be calling nearly every phone from oppo, vivo, samsung, etc with crappy soc + ufs 2/emmc 'ancient'

and even if you get a legit phone, no good person would recommend others to get from such dodgy source since there no guarantee they be as lucky as you.

You obviously never bother to read Redmi note 12 turbo thread.
Lots of ppl already bought from them lol.

I myself bought Lenovo 2k tablet and k50 ultra from these dodgy sources already.

F4 is obsolete is a fact that's why they offloading it cheap @ 300 usual pricing ~400++.
It's never a popular model as f3 is significantly cost efficient.

Hard truths. You lack basic shopping online skills to get the best offers.

you mean this thread https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/redmi-note-12-turbo.6884346/page-3#post-148780582

funny how the 5 or so people commenting they brought it on a thread with 4 page counts as a lot to you.
shopee, mecury* something..
12/512 $38X

Not sure if i will unlock bootloader/flash.
see how the china rom & g suite works first.. any pro here to advice?
Only one person list the seller they bought from and that seller is selling the 1tb at $558

Hard truths, you are the kind of bad person who recommends stuff without clearly stating the risk and when something goes wrong, would you even take responsibility?

A $2.25 64gb sd card is a great deal, would I recommend friends with limited skill/knowledge to buy it, let alone just post it on a public forum without plenty of disclaimers?

Hell no, while I know how to test and the risk of using it, friends just don't recommend dodgy sd cards to friends.

I only recommend stuff from legit source and if something does goes wrong, there plenty of ways for recourse.

Good luck trying to get back your money from some rando china seller on taobao if something happens weeks or months later if you didn't buy via credit card with strong buyer protection, at least xiaomi has an registered business in Singapore and in the worse case, you can bring it to small claim court.

F3 and F4 is the same thing pls. other than OIS on main cam and 67w charging. why would someone get a used F3 over a cheaper brand new F4?

also the note 12 turbo runs on china ROM which makes it useless for 7 days or more until you unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP and flash gapps.
further more, most users do not have the knowledge to do all these. which makes the device completely useless.

i not really agreed wat usaid.wat u mean China ROM is useless and must unlock and flash custom ROM?i been using China from for long time started from mi Max 2 .currently using redmi note 12 turbo and still not intend to flash custom ROM even i know how to do it. actually i more prefer China ROM den global ROM.actually the security for China ROM is more intense.any APP that reading yr device it will notify u.it May not suit u doesn't mean it is bad ROM.
compare with POCO F5 i can save $100.of course it have the risk like warranty .it all depend on each individual whether wanna save the $100 to get the same device just different ROM and warranty cover.same as u wanna save $$ to buy 2nd hand phone.so far all my xiaomi phone last for few years dun have any issue .

in the past i've used export xiaomi sets / china rom too, but facing on and off notification / some smarthome apps issues etc, suspect mainly due to google / service apps loaded in as apps instead of system service in global rom.
nowadays how is such integrations ah?

you are clearly not a power user, what's the point of buying such high end phone if something like the Mi Max 2 meets your needs?

I bet you don't even use a basic power user feature like 3rd party launcher, let alone push the phone to the limit.

jericho246:

many Chinese manufacturers make it impossible to change the stock launcher

The fact you dismiss 3rd party launchers so easily just show you clearly ignorant about them, and I ain't referring to those mainstream launcher like microsoft or nova spyware.

If it ain't for the dumb floating windows limitation on miui, 'desktop' launcher would work well, like taskbar and smart dock.

Instead you need to know the specific steps to get up to 5 apps running in the foreground with MIUI, all on screen and visible. do you know how or even know that you could do that?

Simple launcher like KISS is also neat because you don't need to know where someone put the icon nor the gesture for the search bar for specific brand and android version.

Assuming there is even a search bar.

wat so hard to open 5 APP on screen?splitscreen2 floating and pip.thing is for me there is no need for such on a small screen.if i really needed will get tablet instead.and those method i felt messy too. i will flash custom ROM and use freeform which can open up to 8 screen and nicely resize..

I wun even consider f3/f4 in late 2023. Their support at end stage.
Price performance wise got newer contenders already.

If on budget and die die want global rom wait for upcoming f5 sales in 9.9 or 10.10 11.11 can get ard 400SGD .

You no need unlock bootloader that's for custom roms .

Nowadays china ROM quite friendly to use just a lot of useless bloatware and might need some basic Chinese as they not 100% English interface.

China ROM are significantly cheaper compared to global counterparts for some reason that's why I opted for it.
