For twice the price that doesn't sound like a good deal at all.

About $700 is okay for a top-end processor for me. I just need a decent camera specification so POCO F4 Pro (i.e. K50 Pro) will be a good fit to last me another 3 years if it is ever available.

like how the poco x4 pro is "better" than the poco x3 pro :ROFLMAO:
Usually the direct newer model should be better, but there are exceptions. most obvious is from Samsung A52s to A53. That's why people are buying up the A52s now. haha.

Lowest price for A52s still higher than F3 right?

Nevertheless, Samsung is a hassle free phone for elderlies.

hassle free meh? I know some who brought a model without proximity sensor and can't double tap to "unblack" the screen during call to end call, end up emptying their prepaid sim card

Dad's friend all told him to buy a Samsung and I had a hard time convincing him to use a Xiaomi, luckily the F3's working out for him so far.

Now he can brag that his phone is between 3 to 10 times faster for the same price (samsung A30/A50 vs Poco X3 Pro/F3) or 2-3 times cheaper for the same performance (Samsung Note 10/S20/S21 vs Poco X3 Pro/F3)

And that he had a good smart child that still looking out for him after growing up

It can be damn hard to convince some seniors that online shopping on reputable website is fairly safe and they always insist on buying from local store, paying as much as 2 times more so they know where to go in case of issues, ie: back to the shop that sold them

Another concern of my dad is how hot the phone will run and SD870 seems to be well within his expectation. In fact, F3 is cooler than his older phone :D, frankly that came as a surprise to me as SD8xx series tend to be on the hotter side for continuous business use.

It's no surprise if F4 is going to continue with SD870.

Yah, shipments from HK and China will take longer time cos of COVID outburst.
i think its just HK now? my purchases from china at end of march / early april is almost back to normal shipping time. ~1 week from purchase to my door.

my f3 never heats up except for gaming. 870 is very good.

Precisely, that really came as a surprise to me and my dad.

He's using the stock casing that came with the phone but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be a problem even with a flip casing.

doesn't all android device before some year ago run ether hot or slow, sometimes even both*?

* due to how apps were managed before android pie

I was lucky enough to have used at least 7 other android devices for sometime before the POCO F3 and the F3 is the only one that I find both super fast and fairly cool while using.

is the 256GB version for $358 good price?
is saving around $30 for 128gb less storage a good value?

of course not, a cheap sd card is around that price but the performance is way slower, just get the more storage option.

less likely to run out of space and in the future, you can treat your phone as a decent wireless portable hard drive with it's wifi 6 capabilities
