Tried topping up my ez-link card at the MRT and it was a breeze, procedure same as if i'll use if i want to tap my card. Unlocked my phone then tap, it was just as fast as using the card, almost too fast :D

Wanted to test without phone on but forgot cos when i set up GPay earlier it says small amount doesn't need to but maybe i saw wrongly, will update on next top up.

I tapped for transport with screen on but phone locked also works.. Don't know screen off can work or not

Sent from Xiaomi POCO F2 PRO using GAGT

Although i'll like it too but it can be dangerous for screen off to work too cos people can just use a device to steal money. Even my card i use a protective sleeve to prevent it but it's mainly cos my card will clash with my EZ-Link card so i have to block it.

Just tested again today, phone doesn't need to be unlocked. Just turn on the screen showing the lock screen and it will work.

ya for public transport can just turn on screen and tap can alr, no need unlock. for actual purchases like at ntuc or 711 etc iirc need unlock above certain limit ($5 and above? not sure).

Does the new animation framework in MIUI 12 enhance overall UI smoothness in transition? I mean the smoothness, not the speed.

Currently 0.5x is fast but not smooth while 1.0x is smooth but not fast... :(

Nope. Certainly at 1.0x i could feel something wrong.

See hahaha. So many differing situations lol. But i believe you that all we need to do is turn it on without unlocking cos MRT and Bus small amount only.

This morning I paid $10.90 no need to unlock. I checked the google pay support page, its supposedly $200 and below no need unlock.

Actually bro it’s more of an ocd want on your part la.
I can’t help them display what you want but I can help you with some tips to Ensure standby dropping is not so much.

A) factory reset your phone, if you had a major patch installed that is usually the no. 1 culprit. And don’t restore from google or mi cloud for your apps, go to App Store and install it one by one.

B)
1) on the miui optimisation
2) on the battery optimisation
3) start off with go through all your apps and disable autostart, disable background refresh, disable location. Only enable for gpay and communication app like whatsapp, but please don’t enable it (during this testing) esp for messenger, social media apps including FB, IG etc. and banking apps

4) Ensure all the communication apps and gpay that you enabled in step 3 to turn on battery optimisation.

5) for your email client ie gmail client or the in-built email app to Ensure to set to every 15 min retrieval rather than push. Also Ensure the email client has battery optimisation turned on.

6) clear all background apps in task manager and then restart you phone.

7) under these settings go through 1-2 charging 10%-100% cycle and observe.
You should be able to get better standby battery sipping.

8) finally, after ensuring good standby battery sipping baseline. Turn on autostart and background refresh (one app at a time during testing) the app you want it to test, eg. Your email client to change to push.

9) look out for any delay in receiving notification and also battery standby sippage after turning that app.

10) if got delay turn off battery optimisation for that app and lock app in task

Same. It's really annoying that I can't tell how good or bad the battery of this thing is cos after I go sleep and in that 8hrs I don't use the phone the SOT drop a lot. Only thing I can tell is how long it was on since last charge. Imagine having a UI this shitty after so many years.
