Hello bros, i applied for the home team diploma sponsorship back in october last year, they contacted me about two weeks after i applied where they scheduled for my psychometric test.

After the psychometric test they scheduled for the panel interview which is once again two weeks later. The interview in my case was a 9 interviewers to 1 interviewee.

A month later i was scheduled for medical on 8 December. Few weeks ago i emailed them to ask when the results would be out and they say the assesment and interviews are still ongoing for the other sponsorship applicants so they would notify us about the outcome when concluded.

Today, around 3 pm i finally recieved an email congratulating the sponsorship applicants for recieving the award. The contents of the email besides congralutating was to give us the forms and instruction to find two sureties for bond signing.

Hope this information would be of help !

hii can i ask what questions did they asked u during the interview?

I finished my SA already. It's been 2 weeks almost. And they called me for a dailogue session don't know if it's good news hahaha

Im sure dialogue session is a good thing. I would say, if u are called up for it, u may have passed the first interview. Else they wouldn’t invite u for a Dialogue Session with the director. (For DES) I just went for my medical yesterday and now waiting for the result. Im sure will be able to know by Dec as my enlistment is on the 8th Jan 2019.

I’ll share my timeline and process maybe tmr. Im exhausted now..

Doesn’t matter what they gonna ask u. There’s no right or not to whatever questions they gonna throw at u. They just want to see how u gonna present urself. How well u can converse with them and how confident are u in answering their questions. Again, no right or wrong. Don’t ever stop and go silent. If u do u know u screwed up. Hope they don’t go hard on u, like how they gone hard on me. Luckily Im able to land myself in the medical stage so if I failed, i know where I failed; medical. But I’m sure shouldn’t be an issue if I could get PES B1L1.

Anyone knows when will the joining bonus be given to us if we are successful in our application?

The sign on bonus is not given to you as a lump sum. It’ll be distributed to you over the course of your bond. (2 years or 5 years)

Hey man, I just received an email to attend a review board. Instructions is to be in formal attire. Any idea what is this review board all about? Is it to go for another interview?

any idea whats the selection assessment about??

Selection assessment for Direct Entry Sergeant (DES) consists of 4 segments:

1. Verification of Documents

Candidates would be given a blue folder with some forms. They'll need to place the documents that they were instructed to bring in the folder and follow the recruitment officers' instructions when filling in the forms.
(the forms are really wordy and complex and if you mess up, you'll have to redo them and get an earful from the recruitment officer)
Candidates would be called by the number on the file instead of their names and once called, they'll proceed to the officer who will verify the validity of his/her documents and certificates.

2. Physical Examination

After all candidates' documents have been verified, the males will proceed to one room, the females another room. Inside, candidates would have their height and weight taken. Candidates would also be asked to remove their shirt and spread your arms out. They will ask for candidates to declare any past surgeries or fractures as well as confirming any tattoos.

3. Psychometric Test

After Physical Examination, the candidates will be brought to Police Cantonment Complex (***) to complete the Psychometric test. It's done on a computer and from what I recall, most of the questions are situational based. After completing the test, you are released for a lunch break.

Candidates who are re-applicants who completed the psychometric test before do not need to re-take the test. Hence, they are allowed to have their lunch break right after the physical examination.

4. Panel Interview

After candidates report back to Home Team Career Centre (HTCC), they will be broken up into groups and led to different interview rooms. Candidates would be interviewed by 2-3 senior officers. Each interview takes about 10-15 mins per candidate. Candidates are free to leave after their interview is done.
