Anyone heading down on Friday for DES selection assessment?

Good luck and all the best! Make sure to follow instructions especially when filling in the forms or else they'll make you redo them. Don't rush to fill up the forms like the uniform sizes and declaration forms. The recruitment officers will give you a good nagging.

Thanks ! Any idea what the odds of me getting in are? I'm a preenlistee.

I'm a Pre-Enlistee too. I had my SA about 2 weeks ago and I'm scheduled for a medical screening in 2 weeks. If you show you're committed and passionate for what the SPF does and stands for, I think you should be in the clear. I think Pre-Enlistees are more likely to get accepted. (Don't count on it though, just what I observed after hearing from my SPF NSF friends and reading this thread)

Once again, all the best!

April 2019? So you're in your final year of your diploma? Why not try to apply for Home Team Diploma Sponsorship?

But if you don't want to apply for sponsorship, I think you best wait to complete your diploma course first, then apply before you receive your NS enlistment date.

This is because like you mentioned, SPF recruitment recommends pre-enlistees to apply 3 months before enlistment date however, MINDEF gives out enlistment letters 2 months prior. So you need to estimate when to apply on Careers@GOV. You can also email CMPB stating you intend to serve as a regular in SPF and you need an enlistment date.

So I think you either try apply for sponsorship or complete your diploma first because if you apply now (unless its the HT Sponsorship), its too early.

I recieved a call from them last week to verify something. Other than that, nope. No news haha.

Oh I see, don't worry. If this is your first time applying, if you pass SA, they will email you in 3-4 weeks after your SA.

I was expecting to wait that long but I think as this is my 2nd time applying, they were able to process me faster.

Just keep the thought of "No news is good news" in your head 'cause it applies here. If you don't hear a rejection call within 2 weeks, you should be in the clear as they will dish out rejections first and real quick.

I'm quite certain you'll get a medical. :)

Yes, the training (all 6 or 9 months depending on DES or DEI) is residential regardless the trainee is married or not. I doubt SPF would make any exceptions other than valid reasons such as family matters.

Anyone went for any recent DEI first round interview? It seemed like they have changed the interview process.

2017 - First selection round was based on Selection Assessment
2018 - First selection round was "Tea" Session with other candidates and AD

I was briefed that after the tea session, next up would be the selection assessment. May I know what is included in the selection assessment? :s13:

I didn't apply for HT Sponsorship but I'll assume the interview process is similar to the regular application scheme.

In that case, I would suggest just being open and honest about who you are and why you want to serve in the Home Team. They will probably ask you to describe yourself and ask about what you know about the job scope of a Police Officer.

I'm not sure if you've done your psychometric test, I've a friend who applied for the same sponsorship and has done his test at Cantonment Complex few weeks ago.

If you've yet to do your psychometric test, don't worry about it too much, its not like the one conducted at CMPB with math questions. Most of the questions are situational based and look into your EQ. There's of course going to be one puzzle based section but that's relatively easy.

Don't try to inflate your achievements because most likely your interviewers are going to be Senior Police Officers and its a forgone conclusion that they are trained to read body language.

Get a good night's sleep before your interview, stay calm, show your eagerness and most importantly, be yourself!

Don't be afraid to ask more questions here. I'm also an applicant, though not through sponsorship.

All the best! :)
