Hi guys, I'm currently serving NS(BMT) in the SAF right now and I just got a letter stating I've been granted approval for disruption of NS. Can I know if this means that I'm already confirmed to be inside SPF? Cause I'm contemplating if I still want to join SPF because if I do get to OCS, I would not want to join the SPF?
Anyone has any advise? Can I still reject SPF?
From what I see, assuming you do end up in SPF, it will no longer NS but regular service. You will need to serve at least 5 yrs I believe, considering the MTE duration. You will be getting regular pay instead of NS allowance.
But before anything else, I just have some qns for you.
- Do you see joining SPF a job or career?
- What if you do end up in OCS? What are you going to do from there?
- If you do end up just serving NS and finishing the 2 years, what's next?
(I have a friend in BMT 03/20, his sgt told him there will be more people going command sch for his batch because of the reduced intake from the previous batch. I'm not sure if this is going to affect you.)
In terms of rejecting SPF, as long as you have not sign any paper, rejection should not be an issue.
(add on: did you accept any form of offer e.g. provisional offer?)
