when did you apply? I applied on careergov last saturday and saw that i was shortlisted in the careergov page but they never send any email to me, quite nervous now haha

-SA on 12th December.
-Medical on 26th January.
-Received call early February that they would get back to me soon.
-18th February recieved email to go for bond signing.
-26th February bond signing.
-4th March report to HTA.

Regarding your status on Careers@Gov as long as status is shortlisted is safe. Mine till now is still shortlisted also so no worries ya. All the best bro!

If you are those private Diploma, usually 1 grade lower hence equivalent to NITEC Singapore.

Those whom is NITEC equilvanlent entrant (pte diploma) and can perform well can go up in ranks also, but difficult to enter sensitive Department as it require a higher level of intellect and IQ to tackle the crime..


Degree depends. My exposure is that those Uni what are not local or rank below(agar agar) Top 500 university in world ranking will be Diploma equivalent. Those Top 200 often recognise as I saw those SO in SPF.. Then again among all the local Uni, SIM gov sponsored Uni the easiest. Best if enter with Diploma and get your Degree(find the easiest Uni) then promot to high rank. I have 1 colleague jump from SSGT to ASP within 6 years, but he is SAF Officer Caliber, so his potential was indeed capable.

in SPF after enter, is all work and/or rub shoulder. 1 NSF solved a crime while he was a NSF and was commended and few month later before ORD, direct transfer to Investigation branch. Good job NSF.

Anyway depends on location of Posting,
1/3 quit in less then 5 years service after seeing the HARD TRUTH of Policing difficulty hardship. Those whom completed SAF will find it easy but those whom have not find it difficult in police lifestyle.
1 /3 Stay cos their appointment siok and relax,
1/3 Stay cos of other reason, some passion, some family some got recognition, some dunno what to do outside.

Are colour blind people automatically rejected from joining the SPF? I am interested in becoming an investigator (solving crimes etc.) but I have colour vision deficiency. Does this mean I can’t be a police officer at all?

Normal vision is required to sign on. But u still can get SPF for NS but will most likely be doing community engagement work or office work
