You can join SPF directly without serving a day as NSF and you will be a SPF NSman after you left SPF as a Regular. This is mostly an uniform environment.
For CNB, you can only join after you have ORD as NSF. If you are a NSF in SCDF/SAF/SPF, you will be disrupted from all NSman (SCDF/SAF/SPF) activities until you left CNB. You will be trained as a Police Officers (POs) but you are not under SPF. This is a plain clothes environment.
You will do similar jobs like POs but focus on drug such as Investigation, Search and Arrest or do Admin works. Accused will report for return bail in SPF while you will have people report for urine drug test for CNB. Same same but different.
Not sure about promotion but seem like limited to the rank of SAC for CNB compare to SPF which have 2 more ranks like DCP and CP from their website.
Hi! I’m a pre-enlistee, recieved my letter to enlist for NS on 11th May. Applied for the Direct-Entry Seargant on 20th March, recieved an email for an selection assesment this upcoming Thursday 28th March.
May I please have some advice on what to expect and what to prepare? As I have been reading this forum but to no valid. Also it is mentioned that there is a singlet needed for a physical assesment even though I’m required to wear forms there, does this mean ippt?
Lastly, since I’m supposed to apply 3 months before enlistment as recommended but I only recieved my letter 20th March. Will this process for applying affect my enlistment in anyway?
Thank you
I see, thanks! Do you by chance know if SPF or CNB offers internship opportunities? If so when will the application window open? I’d tried to search for them online but to no avail. I know in 2017 I did receive an email about MHA internship though but I couldn’t make it due to being overseas![]()
Hey I was asked to send certificate of service and nric a month after health checkup. Is that good news ?
Email cos I told them time to time I will travel overseas calling isn't the best optionThat's good news bro! Did they call you up? Or through email

I was still in service back then hence no
The usual time frame from submitting your application to being successful can take at least 6 months to 1 year as you will go through several interviews + they will do background screening. Roughly 10 intakes a year.Hi all, may I check how many intakes there are per year as careers gov did not specify it. I just applied for it the direct entry inspector yesterday, and aas wondering what the usual timeline it is for them to shortlist and go through the application.
Hi guys, anyone of u here knows that is it possible to join the spf if u have sweaty palms?
