Value Investing Mastery Course | Singapore

seems like ben grahnam style is getting popular nowadayds

when I first started out, I also seek and invested in many asset plays

I then move on the growth stocks like challenger

now finally old liao I move towards cash flow instead riao hehehe

just saw this course, $100 nia

cheap cheap one which is affordable to new investors

they teach ben grahnam style of investing[/QUOTE]

$100 is cheap for a course that is no-fluff.

This one is right. Invest in Reits/property companies/banks below P/B and you will do well! CONFIRM GUARANTEED CHOP!.

But… When Will the Asset Value Ever Get Unlock?
Earnings turn around and the stock appreciates significantly
Someone buys control of the company (buyout)
The company begins buying its own stock

very sound principles using walter schloss and piotroski score.
i am using piotroski score in my investing system as well.

definitely can go to this course when compared to those $2-3k warren buffett course

BUT...a big BUT... have any of the trainers been investing using this method and show the audience their porfolio? I like people who eat their own cookies

no offense to alvin.. but at one point, he was telling people to do index investing..
so the belief was you cannot outperform the market and it is better to get market returns.
now with this course.. you are actually implying there market is inefficient and you can outperform the market and so it is better to pick stocks.

what are the trainers practising in real life? oh..i also remember this alvin was being interviewed by one of the cna programs early on in his career as a trader.

Dennis was at least very consistent in his teachings as well as the FATA Master, DR tee or hee...

This thread already OT, too much strategy discussion, now even discussing which course is good.... hard to see people's portfolios.

Maybe have two thread, this one for portfolio sharing, another for strategy?

I started investing in equities since 2014 Dec. I am still a newbie and hope to learn more from everyone here :)

In SGX, I have
- Sembcorp Marine
- Keppel Corp
- Singpost
- Rotary Engineering (albeit only a few lots)
- Genting PLC

In KLSE, I have
- CIMB
- Maybank
- Bumi Armada (the biggest paper loss in terms of percentage so far)
- IOI Properties
- AirAsia

I have learned neither FA nor TA. I chose stocks based on historical prices, blue chips & some advice from experienced family members/friends. At the moment I still don't have a fixed investment philosophy yet and hope to come up with a solid investment style/philosophy for my financial journey down the road.

I have some MYR & a Malaysian family member who is quite experienced in KLSE. I agreed with him that Malaysia share market generally should be more speculative in nature & less internationally exposed compared with Singapore.

As I'm still a newbie in equity investment, I wanna keep things simple and just invest in these two markets.

I'm quite interested in US market and have started doing research on the market. Energy stocks including LINE & NOV are on my watch-list.

Is HK market quite similar to SG market?

maybe u wanna take a look at HK market, same as SG no capital gains nor dividend taxes... and HK market has more liquidity, the big down side is getting news and research

US got 30% dividends tax, however a lot of websites that provide news and research on their stocks

Msia... no liquidity even for blue chips, kinda dead market...

have been just beo-ing so here's my contribution!

Now i'm holding:

1) King Wan
2) Nam Cheong
3) Polaris

First two is for a longer haul (1-2 years, or at least till late 2016). The third is more of familiarity i guess. I've been in out polaris since i started stocks (around 2011) within a price range. So far the company seems to be doing decent things so will have to monitor closely.

Would like to go into index investing eventually, probably more suitable for my style of investing. :D

The Bf Gf Portfolio - Restructuring in Progress!

Hi,

I am currently restructuring my portfolio:

Currently holding:

SGX: Keppel Corp, Chip Eng Seng, Valuetronics, Nam Cheong

US: Priceline, MasterCard and..... recently added another stock...!

I will be doing a write up on that 'secret' stock soon on my blog, but you can go and check out the teaser

For 2015, I will be shifting some of my money out of SGX and into US companies.

Reason being, I find that the US market has a lot of innovative and strong growth companies!

GoPro? hope you can really share something substantial as I have serious doubt about GoPro. If it's some other counter then I would be keen to find out.
