Widgetlocker is sort of like a app that runs on top of the normal lockscreen for non root. The normal lockscreen still remain unchange just that you wont get to see it with widgetlocker covering it. =D

Does it mean that if i have password set on my lockscreen, it will still prompt me to key the password? Or will it bypass the password? Also it states that it can wake phone using all physical button instead of the power button, is it true?

Are there any other similar widget around?

It will not bypass the password. For security reasons u will have to enter the password after sliding.

Yes, from what I tested it allows wakeup by all physical buttons (not capacitive buttons, those ain't really considered physical buttons). However this is also dependent on the rom u are using...for example, with Gingervillian on Desire, only the volume/trackpad/power buttons works for waking, but on stock rom for Desire, all the buttons work.

Hi guys, thanks for answering my queries. Currently, i'm using this app call wake all. When i used it the first few days, it sometimes doesn't work. Then I realised that if i kill task it will be gone. So everytime i kill task i have to activate it again. Quite troublesome, but its free. Does widget locker get kill or it will keep on running evening if kill task?

Hi,

Do I need to root my phone before I can install new themes for widgetlocker?

I am having problems with installing and seeing the new themes. I tried downloading the file and open and installing with widgetlocker. Also tried to update from widgetlocker settings screen in adding new custom slider. Also tried copying the file to the widgetlocker themes directory manually. I still dun see the new theme for the slider.

No need to root.
