Don't get Samsung.

Bad smudging after less than 3 months for mine, and only way seems need to change all the toners.

My colleague bought during the last IT Show, had the same problem, and was also told many similar complaints for those who bought then.

which model and price can perform the following:
1. colour printing
2. auto duplex /ADF for printing, scanning, copying and faxing

Fuji Xerox CM305df or Samsung CLX-6220FX

3. able to do PC fax and scan to network folder, fax to network or email

Both an PC fax but is outgoing only. Both also can scan to network folder or email. Cannot fax to network or email.

4. wireless

No wireless but have network so have to connect to wireless router to make it wireless. You have to decide wireless or duplex more important.

5. low tone / cartridge price <$25 per ink cartridge /2,500

Toner for CM305df:
Black 3000 $112
Cyan 3000 $165
Magenta 3000 $165
Yellow 3000 $165
(we got compatible toners)

Toner for CLX-6220FX
Black 5000 $115
Cyan 4000 $135
Magenta 4000 $135
Yellow 4000 $135
(we dont have compatible toners)

6. reliable

Fuji Xerox would be more reliable

Hope that this is helpful for you.

Need advice on printers! Mum need a printer that can print photos on A4 size paper. Used to use Canon inkjet in the past, but print heads always get clogged, and need special photo paper to print, else color very washed out. So am considering laser printer.

Photos are of products, will be laminated after printing out, and then pass to salesman to distribute out.

1. Color
2. Print only. Actually if got print+scan will be good, but normally these multifunction printer, scan quality is not that good right?
3. Printing capacity per month: average 40-50 photos on A4 size paper at least, when got new products come in, can hit to 200 plus.
4. Budget: Most value for money ba.
5. Other extra requirement: I am more concerned on the cost per page overheads, as most printers' toners advertised quantity is just based on 5%. So wondering, for a full toner capacity, on average, for my type of use, one toner can print average how many photos?

I have been looking around the forum and is considering Fuji Xerox latest SLED printers actually, with the plus of having compatible toners. But have not seen the actual printout of photo quality of the their color laser printers, so not sure if it is good enough a not for my mother.

And lastly, is considering laser printer better? Or should I go back and include inkjet printers too? I don't need very very good quality photo printout. But at least must be true to color, and look decent like a photo (instead of pixelated digital color printout).

Thanks!

Some feedback on the below 2 brands of AIO laser printer i used.
Samsung scanning is quite ok, color smudges. Need to call technician down to change drum.
Fuji Xerox printout is good, scanner quality is very bad even though can set up to 600dpi but quality is like 200 to 300dpi only. very grainy.

Hi, sorry for laser there is no model that can replace. However for ink, the page yield is not true page yield as it would dry up. Probably if you still want those printer with all the functions, you have to use or buy back hp 8600 A plus.

How come no one mentioned Canon ah? Not good ah?

Cause canon warranty 2 years only. Toners also expensive.

Canon MF4412 $199

Warranty 2 years
Toner + drum combine
Standard yield 1.6k pages @ $99

Anyway, any suggestions for:

1. Mono
2. Print, Scan, Copy (3 in 1)

Fuji Xerox M205b or Brother MFC-7055

Fuji Xerox M205b $179
Warranty 4 years carry-in.
Toner only as drum inbuilt into printer can covered by the warranty.
Standard yield 1k pages @ $55
High yield 2.2k pages @ $95

Brother MFC-7055 $158
Warranty 3 years on-site
Toner
Standard yield 700 pages @ $32

Drum 12k pages @ $148

3. Student usage (low?)
4. Budget (not more than $200-300? enough?)

Hope that this is helpful. For toner prices +- 5% cause depends on reseller discount also.

Dont have to look at other brands of colour laser already. In the market, Fuji Xerox SLED printers have the best quality printing for photo. The rest is crap.
However, for laser printer, they cant print borderless photos so will have a small margin at the side. Laser printer is confirm better just that you have to see if the Fuji Xerox quality is alright for your mum. :s13::s13:

Correct. However the labour cost is $60 for on-site (applicable only for models with on-site warranty) or $30 for carry-in. Parts and drum all covered under the 4 years.

Hey guys, will be looking for a AIO printer in this PC show. Would be great if someone will recommend me some options.

Specs that i would need include:

1. Full duplex printing
2. Colour printing
3. AIO capabilities (Scanner Copier Printer)
4. Cheap aftermarket / 3rd party ink options
5. Wireless would be a bonus
5. <$250

Currently im looking at the Brother DCP-J725DW but other recommendations would be great. Thanks. :D
