Update the driver for your Ethernet card.

I had this problem with my wireless card in Windows 7 on my laptop when win 7 just launched.

Alright! Will try it out when I get home later.. THanks!

Try unplugging all other usb devices, cables, hubs & plug in keyboard only. See can or not.

I have installed win 8 today, and really like it.

One of the problems I have is with IE 10. When I on the 'Today online' Silverlight edition. I clicked on a page, and a new window open out with the page. If I expand the new window to maximum size, the page will not occupy the full size of the window, maybe about 2/3 of the size.

I think even the earlier versions such as IE 9 also have this issue.

Anybody know a way to resolve this issue.

Firefox did not have this problem though.

My keyboard and mouse did not work on a normal boot up.

Had to off the PC. Switch the keyboard and mouse to different USB ports. On reboot, the mouse and keyboard resumed working again.

Check the internet, and realised there are many users also facing the same problem, particularly those with ASUS motherboards (same as me).

One user suggested to go to Control Panel - Power Options - Change Plan settings - Change advanced power settings - USB settings - USB selective suspend setting - Disabled.

I have try this, and switch the keyboard and mouse back to the original USB ports. So far, everything looks good. But not sure whether the problem fully resolved, or will it come back and haunt me again.

Broadcom Wifi Adapter Not Detected by Win8

Hi,

I've done a clean install of W8 64bit on my Samsung RV411 laptop and been using it for more than 1 week. Everything works fine.

Today while surfing half way, the wifi icon suddenly show a X. I clicked on the wifi icon and disconnect from my network ... and my whole laptop hang. I did a force shutdown (press the power button till power off) and the Broadcom Wifi Adapter can longer be detected. Open up Device Manager and did a hardware scan, still can't find, as if it is physically not present.

Anyone encountered this problem? Best if someone can advise on what can I do to "get back" my wireless adapter.

Many thanks in advanced.

Add: Problem solved, though I do not know what actually is the cause. I stripped open the bottom cover, disconnected the Wifi cum BT adapter and reinstall it back. Hook up power and everything is working now.

This morning, the keyboard and mouse did not work again. Has to reconnect the keyboard and mouse to the front USB ports.

Seems like problem will occur if computer if off for more than 1 hour.

Back to square 1 again. Any bros here having similar problems? Any suggestions to resolve problem.

Works fine for me on both browsers. In any case you can manually adjust the zoom?

Found that the BIOS which I have updated when PC was in win 7, has rolled back to the original BIOS.

Just update the BIOS again, and the USB power came back on again. Will monitor and see any more problem.

If still don't work, goto BIOS & enable legacy USB support.

For Windows 7/8, your PnP OS setting should be ON to support ACPI but don't switch it now because Windows may report no-boot device if you switch it on AFTER installing Windows.

In general, always have the latest BIOS & drivers for mobo. I usually just download reference drivers from Intel.
