Problem(s) with your S7/S7 Edge

I am a loyal user of Samsung and my last five phones were Samsung. I bought the Galaxy S7 edge, which was great, until it died three weeks later! I was plugged in to the original fast charger adapter and after charging for a while, the phone became really hot. Then the whole display froze and I could not reboot or soft reset or hard reset. Brought to the Samsung service centre and they admitted it was a hardware failure and needed to replace some parts. Best part is.. They don't have the parts to replace!*


My advice - it's a great phone but don't buy it just yet. Wait for them to fix the initial issues. And if you have bought it, DO NOT use the fast charging as it will toast your phone and battery.*Apparently the OVERHEATING ISSUE is a common problem.

Thats why i use the normal charger to charge my S7.

my problem with my S7 Edge

is the phantom touch on the multitask button
example sometimes when i am hold the phone
the screen will split
sometimes after i use the phone, i put the phone down to the table
then it will split into 2... :O

it is not major problem to me.. but it is annoying


another VERY VERY VERY annoying issue is the bluetooth connection to my earpiece
the music will just suddenly cut off
and in order for me to get back the music
1. press and hold the play button on the earpiece
so it will launch the google talk, pause the music
and replay the music

2. turn off the earpiece, turn it back on and reconnect

this situation can happen anytime...
i do not have this issue with my earpiece when i am using it with my Sony Z5 and iPhone, and iPad

In regards to music keeps pausing itself, go to settings>battery>App Power Saving>Details> and disable power saving for the particular music playing app.
If I'm not wrong, the app will auto stop after 15mins to save power. (read somewhere, anyone correct me if I'm wrong)
I did that and so far my music doesn't pause.

Not exactly a fan boy, but might be possible your set is defective? Mine I use the included fast charger it gets warmer but not hot lei. Mine the non edge s7

Not sure if this is the right place to post this....

I find the jpg processing for the rear camera a tad TOO contrasty and over sharpened for my liking, compared to my former LG G4 which produces more 'pleasing' images. Are there any camera apps out there I can use instead, which doesn't apply such punchy processing to the images?

Also, I find the front camera very weird for selfies, the skin looks too plasticky even with all the processing turned off.

Check the phone setting.

my phone always intermittently becomes very slow, want to reboot i tap on the reboot icon nothing happens, afterwards press home button go back home screen non of the icons respond. i need to hard reset then ok.

Just like to check if your S7 edge do hang randomly? I used S7 edge for a week and I have 2 hangs, where pressing anything doesn't work and the phone will freeze for like 5 minutes until it restarts and loads again as if nothing happens?

Is there any phone defects on this? Do I need to repair for such stuff?

Also, I saw that Starhub have launched Samsung Concierge, can those who bought with contract previously still get that? (but what does it do anyway other than no early termination fee after 12 months [which I am not keen of it])

i noticed i also experienced point no. 1. after i fingerprint unlock it, the multitask button or the show all apps running screen will appear. still trying to figure out why.

i encounted 2 reboots since i had the phone. it will hang and then reboots. i have the phone for only 3 days.

U r not alone. Today whatapps hanged on me, unable to press anything n not able to shut down. Phone screen then turn black n restarted itself..was driving out n going to use Google maps for direction..

The sound keeps cutting off on me. After I factory reset, for 1 week nothing of sort happened. But after that, the problem came back. I woke up late today because my alarm didn't ring and all audio on my phone was not working. Even though on the screen, my alarm is ringing, there is no sound coming out of the device. This happens several times in one day.

Anyone know the procedure to exchange phones with Samsung? Sick of this problem. My old note 3 did not have any such problems.

Another small issue I discover after a week of use, my display is a bit too sensitive. The mere light brush on the screen will launch the apps. Nothing really serious and I just end the apps.

I don't have SP applied anyway.

Got the same problem here. Believe the sensitivity issue will be addressed as part of the firmware updates. Already released to certain countries... just not Singapore yet

Not serious issue as compared to some other unlucky ones. Just have to avoid brushing against the screen and ending the accidental launched app.

Anyone with the sound issue sent their phone to the service center? My phone keeps having the problem on a daily basis now. Might sell it off for the G5 instead
