Problems faced when making new passport

I have done it online for my mother and she collected her passport last week. She said it was fast and efficient. She always forget her singpass password so must always reset and reset.

TS don't char siew la. Help your one and only father la.

No, just use your singpass to login and help him submit, he doesn't have singpass account. You can try on your singpass apps if you don't believe. By the way, passport owner need to collect the passport in person at post office with IC. So nothing to cheat.

the whole assumption with old people is that they will either learn how to use e-services, or their children will register account in their name and do it for them (and everyone pretends that they did it themselves)

my dad 70+ wanna do one new passport.. I told him go online.. he say lead him to the singpass page . Then say his phone no singpass no password leh. last yrs go cpf building do... They tried help him but failed.. solution ask him go buy one new handphone.. then he continues to live his life without singpass ..

So he say just go ica building do can Liao... Yesterday After going there waiting for hours... The ica ppl told him... Can only do online.. no more fill out form drop letterbox... ..

Then he say nvm.. cos he remembers post office use to help ppl do passport one .. today
Went down post office.. ppl there say.. OH.. LAST TIME USE TO CAN DO HERE.. now only can online do.. they changed it...

Then those old ppl no smart phone dunno how go online one.. dun need make passport Liao?? They diam diam..

Anyway my 2 passports I did online and no issue. Now very simple, just take photo ownself and submit then collect when ready. Sadly, now everything is digital. If elderly like your father don't want to adapt then it's their fault. No one is there to spoonfeed them.

You are younger but don't know how to help him? Even my parents had difficulty but after teaching my dad he was able to help my mum. I'm not tech savvy but I try to learn what I can.

Most powerful passport also have very outdated citizens. Singapore passport is 10 years, not 5. How long did you not use your Singapore passport? 7 years never renew?

i said there is NO option to choose ICA as collection point, NO option to make appointment at ICA like last time. NO. CANNOT.
ONLY walk-in.
Just walk-in and take a queue ticket.
Don't chiong in at 8am to squeeze w all the crowd then kaopeh wait very long.

Post your completed application form to:

Passport Unit
Citizen Services Centre
ICA Building
10 Kallang Road, Level 2
Singapore 208718

Alternatively, drop it in the deposit box at Level 1, ICA Building, during the current operating hours from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays, and 8.00 am to 12.30 pm on Saturdays.

The deposit box will not be available after operating hours, including Sundays and Public Holidays.

Honestly, did your dad mail in the form? Fill up the form? Or did he go to the counter with a blank form and say I wanna make passport?

cos if you go there will a blank form, chances are they will tell you to do online rather than fill up at counter
