my dad 70+ wanna do one new passport.. I told him go online.. he say lead him to the singpass page . Then say his phone no singpass no password leh. last yrs go cpf building do... They tried help him but failed.. solution ask him go buy one new handphone.. then he continues to live his life without singpass ..

So he say just go ica building do can Liao... Yesterday After going there waiting for hours... The ica ppl told him... Can only do online.. no more fill out form drop letterbox... ..

Then he say nvm.. cos he remembers post office use to help ppl do passport one .. today
Went down post office.. ppl there say.. OH.. LAST TIME USE TO CAN DO HERE.. now only can online do.. they changed it...

Then those old ppl no smart phone dunno how go online one.. dun need make passport Liao?? They diam diam..

then tell your dad say no pp cannot go overseas liao ......
yes, in Sg if you cannot catch up, you get left out. If you more unlucky, you get replaced by FT. Hard Truths.

the phone to key Singpass password for OTP nowadays needs face scanning verification also must help him too. To do highly confidential matters like viewing statements, best to bring both ics to Singpass Office to log in one as Family Caregiver. Haiz, no latest phone model, no Sim Only, not online, how apply anything.

If i rmb correctly, there is option for sms otp only that one dont need face scan. Not sure if system changed
i am still able to do things with only sms No singpass app

He go do singpass password Liao... But not immediately... Say will mail the password to his letterbox... Dunno how long

Check his letter box - should by next week.
Change the password and remember for him.
Nowadays want his face scanned into his phone.

Cannot. One phone number, one Singapass.
Unless you record at Singpass Office together that you are the Family Caregiver. Declaration will be in Singpass Records.

Old people are really left behind on this digital age.

Also, why you all kids, never talk to him and tell him not to waste trip to Post Office?
If ICA cannot do on paper, post office also surely cannot do. Right?

Apply for a new passport at go.gov.sg/passport

Log in with your SingPass at go.gov.sg/passport. Alternatively, others (e.g. your family members) can submit an application on your behalf.

Ok... I just did a test ... kek kek trying to apply a passport for my mom, who doesn't hv hp and no singpass...

I try apply using my singpass login, click "applying for someone else"... then msg got say can only be parents... then I key in her particulars n verify and my mother's particular appear to ask to upload her photo n particulars etc, I think can continue without problem wan la... but I jus ended my test since not doing...

So TS dun worry can go online go for your father

Thank you very much, at least I know now that I can apply passport for my Special Needs sibling who might need to escape together overseas, otherwise I will abandon him here - joking - will never

last time there were forms available there, just fill up on the spot and drop form into box after pasting your photo. but not sure if still got photo booth there

Just across the bridge behind ICA have at least 2-4 passport photo taking services, I think on the 4th or 6th floor of ICA should have as well

Just last year can, now for certain confidential matters, needs face scanning and what 2FA, the phone somehow obsolete itself, it says it cannot handle SG

the issue is not abt making passport, it is the intention of making one...

it seems like ur father dun wanna travel that's why dragging his feet to make passport, even making the process harder then it shld be hoping he can simply not travel...
