I wonder if Ange1yn would honor us with some images of the diamond showing its fluorescence. Maybe some shots in direct/indirect sunlight and some in UV light? I'm sure other members would love to see it![]()
Hi experts,
Today i went to to look for a ring and there are two choices that i'm considering:
1) 0.41 D VS2 GIA 5156235755
2) 0.40 F VS2 GIA 51565335592
The second one is $200 cheaper. May i have your advice which ones is better?
Thanks.
I would avoid the 0.40 one.. A 0.39 can cost much cheaper and you won't be able to tell a difference for a 0.01 diff. If I had to pick one, I'll take the 0.41 D VS2. For $200, u can upgrade to the best color..![]()
Hi guys.. would like to know what makes JP diamond engagement rings so popular in this forum. Cuz i saw the rings from bluenile and bluenile (in my opinion of cuz) seems cheaper yet the settings and diamind specs are compareable if not a little bit better than JP. Of cuz dont talk abt the free washing and resize the rings since JP is physical store and brick. But bluenile is online. What makes JP stand out here? Their diamonds are also certified same as bluenile's. Would appreciate any expert comments cuz its a big investment here for our special one. Your comments are much appreciated
Ps: for the price of a 0.45 vs1, g from jp I can get a 0.56 vvs1, d or f from bluenile. Both same est pricing, excellent cut and decent settings.

Thanks for your advice, but I'm kind of confuse here. The first one has HCA score of 1.7 Ex/Ex/Ex/VG while the second one is 1.5 Ex/Ex/VG/VG. So HCA score cannot be used to compare the light performance, right?
There is a difference in term of the quality both places offer. Bluenile only sells Ideal diamonds whereas JP sells Super Ideal. When making a comparison, you need to compare the same quality too.
From a past quotation, a Super Ideal from JP 0.41ct F VS1 is about $2.5k.
If you compare with Bluenile's Signature Ideal cut 0.56 E VVS1 that you used an example, it is SGD3,910.. after factoring GST it's $4,180. That's about a $1.7k different bro.
Unless it's not a triple Excellent diamond with Excellent in Cut only? or Fluorescence?
Either way, when you buy from Bluenile, you can only make your judgement based on the certificate. And there's tons of things the certificate doesn't reveal.. Eg. light leakages, symmetrical hearts/arrows, etc. Some diamonds can be brown, which won't be reflected on the certificate too.. these are part of the risks when buying online.
If you factor in the free re-sizing and re-plating services JP offers, it actually comes up to a good deal. Not to mention the customization works of design JP does.

Are those the only 2 diamonds you're considering? I would try to go for one that has HCA score minimum 1.4 with EX/EX/EX/VG
Are u guys particular whether the diamond is GIA or AGS certified? Are there any differences between the 2?
And for those who went JP before, I can ask them to send the scope pictures to me for free?
TIA![]()
GIA and AGS are just two separate grading associations. Only thing to note is that they are consistent and provide reasonably accurate gradings. The more important thing to note is the range of each their categories to fully understand the impact on your diamond!
Hi Guys ,
Cant decide on my mind
JP Quoted
