Most of us here are not a big fan of Vivo.. They use fake and automated bots to post reviews online, both on facebook and forum about their diamonds. Members here (including myself) have exposed them before.

Yah i realise their rep probably not that good only after I paid for mine with Vivo.
Luckily i quite like the ring from them, through if I get from JannPaul probably I could have get a better rock with the same amount.

anyway, JannPaul will be where I'm going to if I ever want another diamond :)

Good evening!

Just checking, my girl likes a 5 pronged diamond ring but when i look at the photos here and also in JP facebook, it seems alot are choosing 4 pronged. Hmmm, why is 5 pronged seldom seen?

From an aesthetic point of view, it is preferable to have an even number of prongs - 4 or 6. With even number of prongs, it is possible to see symmetry in design, and this is also beauty.

With smaller diamonds, or for certain specially facetted diamonds which exhibit more scintillation from crown or even pavilion facets, 4 prongs are preferred. For larger diamonds where security of diamond may be an important factor, 6 prongs may be preferred.

Best regards,
Stephen

I am still waiting for Paul's call. I was overseas when he called me and when I called him, he was in reservist.

Quite excited to see the final design. :)

can i ask if rings bought from JP or Vivo can change ring size?

For JP if i rem correctly they allow u to change the ring size up to 4 times. U can confirm wif other brothers who bought from them recently on this as i bought mine in June.

JP quoted me these prices:

0.51 Carat, VS2, D, HCA 1.2 (or 1.3, cant rem), triple Excellent - $4,200.

0.52 Carat, VS2, E, HCA 1.3, triple Excellent - $3,900.

I know JP is a reputated and honest shop, but I want to ask if these prices are ok?

edited: carat value of second diamond changed from 0.51 to 0.52

Huh they recommended 0.51 ct?

I thought the cardinal rule of diamoind buying is not to buy too close to 0.*0. This is to prevent devaluation in case your diamond chips off.

There is a wide price drop from 1 band to the other i.e. from 0.5 to 0.49 is 1 band difference. Unless 0.51 and 0.49 are in the same price band then I'm wrong here.

Do you have the loose diamond pictures of the diamond under the different scopes?

I think as long as it's not 0.50 on the dot should be fine.. but if you can stretch your budget abit, try to go for 0.5c+.

I do not have it.. But I've seen one of them in the shop itself. So are the prices ok? or are they under/over market prices..?

If your comparing same quality as compared to other retail brands, I find Jann Paul prices much lower than the market rate. But one thing which they have a huge advantage is that they are alot more transparent with their diamonds with their scope. You should ask them to send you the scope images. I think it's part of their service.

In terms of value, I find that JP give the best value for quality. TBH, their diamond quality is one of the highest I've seen.. If not, the highest. Just go look around at other shops and you'll know what I mean :)

Anyone who bet on Man City can buy diamond Liao... Sian.. Lol

Hi all,

After reading so much on proposal rings, I have some questions to ask all the experts here...
First of all i dont have much budget to spulge.
I went around those retail brands and find all the stones are grossly overpriced for the brand.

I'm pretty much interested on buying loose stones online.
Tried looking at Bluenile and it seems reliable.

Long story short, I was thinking of getting a heartshaped diamond for its look. Some of the stones i shortlisted:

Questions:

1) Is it reliable to get from Bluenile?
2) Which stone above is the best value for $ considered that its a fancy cut (heartshape)?
3) Should I do my setting with bluenile also?
4) Any other advice?

Hope it wouldnt exceed $3.5k all in...
I'm a peasant :D
