Tell me about it.. lol. If I didn't go for the double split band design, I would have probably gone for the tapered side settings too. See how it looks on your finger. Thicker rings looks better on my gf's hand.. I see your fingers quite small, so maybe thinner band will look nicer

Top octagon, below super ideal.

I'm just afraid that the octagon shape will not be obvious. This is a 0.514.

Any advise from seniors? And just to check 4 or 6 prongs will be better?
gotta look at the scopes too, but if its from jp, should be pretty standard. Pricing is ok, around there for 0.5x. there is a video on the advice of 4 or 6 prongs from jannpaul, can just search on youtube and you will have a better idea :)

4prongs will show more of the diamond, thicker prongs. 6prongs have thinner prongs and will cage up the diamond, more security.

Some feel 4 prongs makes the diamond look bigger whereas some feels 6prongs does a better job.

Looks good on paper, any scopes to share?

Prongs is personal preference.. there's advantages and disadvantages for both. Personally, I like 4 prongs as it can show more of the diamond.

I guess it's around 4k?
It's a good deal with the price includes side diamond as got quoted 0.54 E vs1 $4650. Your setting with side diamond I guess standard it's $1100? Unless normal settings $550 which add to $5200.

I chose the 0.42 cos they told me they don't have the 0.46-0.47 SI ... How much are u paying for the stone ?

I paid 3.8k including 4 claws setting. The 0.47 is not in the show room yet and it will only come few weeks later. And yes you're right. They don't have much 0.41 and above left over in the showroom. That's what I was told. I was served by Samuel, very profession service rendered.

I wanted to take the 0.41 but the price difference between the 0.47 is not too huge. So I went for the 0.47 with F color and better HCA score of 0.8 although I never see the stone itself.

I'm very very happy with the GIA and HCA scores. Can't wait to see the actual stone when it arrives in the showroom. :)

Very professional service by JP as well. The salesman attended to me is Samuel :)

Can I make a quick check with the gurus here?

Does it mean that if the HCA is less than 1.4, it automatically qualifies as "Super Ideal"?

Or is it still subjected to the symmetry of "Hearts and Arrow" pattern?

JP normally classifies diamonds with HCA score lower then 1.4 as Super Ideal, do take note this is only applicable for round diamonds.

As what the rest of the gurus here mentioned, HCA score is not everything, you still need to look at the scopes to determine the brightness, any major light leakages etc.

not true on hca <1.4 = super ideal

also depends on the H&A too. and various other factors which i forgotten

i was shown a hca 1.3 but it is only ideal
