Thank you, I've actually checked out goodoldgold and JannPaul regarding Cushion Brellia, but if you include taxes, it's slightly more expensive than JannPaul, the quality control would actually be much better over at JannPaul, and they've got a huge selection of Cushion Brellia than goodoldgold as well.

But what I'd wanna know is how I can analyse it with the ASET, because I've currently got 3 brellias with similar specs.

P.S.
Personally I would not go for the august vintage as it looks like a cut for old people.

Guys, I've been following this thread for quite awhile and I've got questions for you experts out there.

Cushion Brellia can't calculate HCA score.
How to check quality?
Aset?
Heart & Arrows?

Both Aset and Hearts is important for analyzing modified cuts like Brellia

Aset > Ideal

Reds shows the whites
Greens shows the greys
Blue shows the blacks
White shows the leakage, messiness, milkyness

Scrolling the video to 2:47 you can see the normal cushion and the Brellia H&A.
Looking at where the reds are will get you the brightness, then the greens at the corners look grey? and the arrows look black. What this means is that when you set the Cushion Brellia up, the ring claws goes over the 4 green corners, allowing the Brellia to look extremely bright :) I don't think anyone noticed this before

The arrows(blue) on the aset act like mirrors to reflect fire, the reds get good amount of dispersion also (sparkes/fire) the greens only show at certain angles

If you see the normal cushion at the white regions are very dead in fire and the greens only show when the diamond gets tilted..

JP has another video about Hearts... can't seem to find it now =:p

I've been following this thread as I'm preparing to propose to my girlfriend end of this year.

Have realized alot of you are big fan of Jann Paul. Just wondering, is it an online outlet?

My girlfriend loves Tiffany & Co. However, the price is exorbitant due to its brand, and between her love and practicability, I've decided to source elsewhere.

I realize that from Vivodiamonds, they have similar cut and ring shape as to Tiffany & Co, plus the fact that their diamond cost cheaper.

Opinions?

Hello there,

From our experience, men and women choose diamonds very differently.

Men would generally want to understand more technical details, more information about the brand history or cutter experience, about assurance and value. All this is important information, but naturally the beauty of the diamond should not be overlooked.

The ladies naturally also care about the above, but the "main attraction" tend to be the beauty of the diamond, how it sparkles and scintillates in the light, how fascinating the fire looks, how beautiful the diamond looks on their fingers and how it accentuates their complexion or beauty. Perhaps more emotive, which is natural given that diamonds are entirely about emotion.

Perhaps it is because the men would scrutinize the technical details that the ladies have the freedom to focus on the beauty? But both approaches used in tandem can help a couple decide which diamond to choose.

Best regards,
Stephen Tan

Jann Paul has a physical store.. You can view ther collection on their Facebook.

Yeah, you're paying a high price for the blue box.. Which you're probably just going to see it once when you propose. Haha

What you want to look out for is the quality of the diamond, especially with the Ideal and ASET scope. Vivo is just one of the many online retails stores.

Yup! A big shiny rock is the ultimate goal :)

How to make sure it's the shiniest is to look at the specs and the scopes.. Like making sure it has no light leakages, painted or dugged girdles, etc.

These are useful to tell the quality difference in the diamond and the price premium you're paying for it. I'm sure everyone wants the best bang for their buck to get the best quality at the lowest price :)

I realised Vivo has a retail store too, at Tanjong Pagar, and it's also a showroom.

Anyway, where is Jann Paul retail store? How different is Jann Paul as compared to other jeweler such as Lee Hwa, Gold Heart etc? Is it price or quality?

They are at Far East.
Besides super ideal diamond cut, they have international brands of diamonds like the solasfera, brellia, angel and brilliant lady.
Diamond quality are higher and prices way better than retail outlets
U can easily google for more information of those diamonds.

everything is fine as long as you check it:s12:

something like this:
If say you had a SI1 with only CRYSTAL
chances are you are going to have 1 or 2 big black spots smack in the middle of the table

and say you have a feather, crystal, pinpoint on a VS2

chances are the feather will not cause any durability issues, crystal spot might be white, some small white pinpoint dots which you can hardly see

and say you have a feather only on a VS2
it might be 1 or 2 lines not causing any durability issues
-this is great cause you can't see anything
or it may be at the girdle which may cause durability issues

and say you have a cloud only SI2
it's probably going to be something you want to avoid because it's a whole mass of small white/black dots coagulated together to form something horrific

and say you have a cloud only on VS1
this is probably great because the dots are likely to be white and spread out and you can hardly see anything

remember this though, a picture shot right in front of a diamond to see where the inclusion is will tell you that say a feather going through the table of the diamond is extremely thin and impossible to spot. However inclusions are 3D meaning if you tilt the diamond, that feather may actually be much bigger than it seems on picture:s12:

JP just told me that their image capturing machine is spoilt so I cannot get my diamond pics until a week later :( Um just wondering, don't they take pics once the have gotten the diamond? Or only when the customer requests for it?

Though I am satisfied with their good service, I am a bit displeased about this.

It takes 3 or 4 days for the pictures... Long time ago while i was looking for my diamond, to my knowledge they uses iphone and it was faster to get them...

The anniversary gift that i got for my wife comes with the new high def shots... jann mentioned to me before that the camera needs calibration for each diamond and every one of it takes like 2 hours to capture because it is difficult to get the perpendicular shot.... so possibly that is why it is hard to keep up to date with every diamond stock...

what cut are you going for? Higher facets like solasfera (90+) Gabrielle (100+) brilliantlady21(200+) will hide inclusions better superficially. Old looking cuts with bigger facets can't really hide them at all.

or if you're going for just a 57 facet h&a round, what kind of inclusions you looking for? it really depends on the individual diamond, you can't say that...
feather vs2 is better than like say cloud and crystal vs2
a cloud and crystal vs2 sometimes can look better than a cloud and pinpoint and chip and crystal vs2:s12:
