Congrats! How come like got so many ppl buying Solasfera nowadays :s13:

Firstly, for me, i bought Solasfera because it is the only one that provides the scientific proof that it is the most 'bling' diamond around. Then when actually observing the diamond, I can also see the real-world results.

Then secondly, I also wanted my fiancee to have the best diamond there is (not in terms of cost) in terms of optical performance.

I learnt that there are both Solasfea Round Brilliants and Solasfera Princess Cuts. Wasn't able to see Solasfera Princess cut at JP though. Not sure if they stock them.

I especially like that the pictures of my diamond show that its symmetry is more or less perfect. I have seen other Solasfera diamonds with less than perfect symmetry. Those are a no no for me.

I almosstt got the Solasfera for my missus... It is a very sparkly diamond and you can really see the optical difference.. but in the end, I had to settle for the Brellia cos my wife to be prefers the squarish shape.. Although I personally liked the Solasfera myself... but no choice.. :s13:

But the Brellia is still a very sparkly cushion diamond... I think it's the sparkliest cushion shape diamond available.

same goes for u, what a "miracle" :s13:

anyway, time for me to contribute my part for this thread. Sorry for being so silent all this while and the long text.

I was served by Jann, same as for others. It all started with a scope check and education on diamonds. The missus wanted a rectangle aka "emerald" cut, but what i saw here and further proven when Jann shown me...if its a diamond, it gotta sparkle! I rather go for something that sparkles rather what shape she choose.

Surely a sparkle will overwrites Everything :s8:

Its a rather short session as compared to others here, maybe i already know what i want and straight go for it. In fact ,we spent a bit of time OT and chat about many other matters like travelling, credit card advantages..n...TOYS! :s13:

My choice of stone

0.461 Cushion Brellia
VS1 G

Solitaire setting due to her wedding band already graced with 19 tiny diamonds in a row. Overkill if i were to take 1 with side diamonds as too many small diamonds will steal the limelight, simple n nice better.
Indeed, not like other stores "die die" ask you to add on as much as possible.

The price seriously was reasonable than i though, well within budget as well.

Congrats man. :D

Looks like you got a new CFO to control your collection soon. :s13:

I used to think round is the safest bet till I saw Brellia. It's also like the cutest shaped diamond. :D

depends on the person's preferences. Some people think square shaped diamonds make the person wearing it look "square". If you know what i mean.

I think Montblanc cut is just round brilliant.

I went to take a look yesterday and bought a ring from them. I don't think it's the round brilliant cut as the diamond is in the shape of a star. Apparently it is patented. Fancy, but seriously overpriced imho.

Ok promised to do a feedback on JannPaul...
Here it goes (a bit longwinded):

Overall I find JannPaul's service, price and diamonds quality - great!

My first session with David took 4 hrs! The last 2 sessions took around 1hr. David is always patience with my SO and I and not to mention Casey as well when I made a sudden short trip down w/o any appointment.
Both are friendly and very helpful.

During the 1st session with David, he educated my SO and I on diamonds, follow by selection of diamonds and answering of questions. He never show "black face" when we can't decide which diamond to get.

We took quite a long time thinking which diamond is the best we could have and finalise the diamond during the 3rd session with 100% no doubts.

JannPaul team are always patience and polite to all customers (from what I see). This is one factor that most of the local jewelry shops lack in.

Please look for JP to learn more on diamonds and compare prices with local shops like Goldheart, LeeHwa, Soo Kee etc. before you purchase anything.
For ard the same specifications of diamond I chosen, LeeHwa is selling twice the price... OMG!

So make an appointment with JannPaul and the rest is history! You won't regret. :)

Maybe you can post the GIA cert? There are a lot more specs shown there which can determine the cut, HCA score etc.

Sharing my hoot from David, visited him twice.
We choose between the below and Solasfera, in the end my gf prefer the below as she felt that Solasfera blink was quite messy in a 0.5carat.

Agree, Solasfera may look a bit 'busy' in the smaller carat sizes (facets would definitely be smaller as a result). But, being 'busy' is not a bad thing. Some people like their rock to look 'lively' and not 'less lively'. Matter of preference.
That's one reason why i bought a 1 carat plus Solasfera from them.

Another reason is that i am sort of a perfectionist. White color (leakage) in the scope images is a no no.
