Thanks bro! Wonder will 4k make a bit difference..? Hmm simple ring settings would mean no have those diamond things on the ring yea...

Yup. Simple ring settings are without the side diamonds on ring. You can play around with the 4Cs (Cut,Carat,Color,Clarity) to maximize on your budget.

Hi I need to buy a proposal ring soon. I was quoted a 13k for a 0.5 carat diamond ring at lee hwa jewellery. It is called the destinee royal diamond. Is this worth it? or it is expensive because it is a brand in the mall. I dont know much about diamond myself. Budget is around 10-20k

Go look at a few more shops and do the comparison. 13K for a 0.5 is way too expensive.

Yes i was shocked too.. I thought it is like 6k++ but when i look at the tag is around 16k with discount i still need to pay 13k :s22: . Other shops like citigems or sk went in but dun have feel for the diamonds there. Will try to book a appointment at JP already.

Gents, any ideas on how much are those small small side diamonds? I will complicate the ring, but it will be an added beauty. Maybe 3 on each side the minimum???

For that price, you might as well go for Tiffany/Cartier/Harry Winston that are more international re-known brands! But like what {Gorgeous} said, it does not necessarily mean its a better diamond.

To really see how good a diamond is, you need to see it with the Aset scope, Ideal scope and hearts and arrows scope.. which none of these high brands provide.. So you're pretty much just paying more for the brand than the diamond.

I made a mistake splurging on a Tiffany ring before.. Unfortunately, I didn't know about JP then... I upgraded my diamond with them at a lower price and for a better diamond. The difference in the quality is obvious. Oh, and Tiffany certifies their own diamonds.. so it's not even GIA certified..

Agree.. You're paying more for the box than the ring

Hi all,

Bought a Solasfera from JP last weekend. Just got the images from them. Would like to consult the experts here on something which I observed...

I noticed that the tips of the arrow-shafts barely touch the bases of the arrow-heads (at the table edge location). This occurs for all 10 arrows.

I've seen in other solasfera and super ideal diamond images that all the shafts are able to fully/properly connect to the arrow heads.

Is this a cause for concern?

If I'm correct as long as the arrows is straight its fine.. Do you have the other scope pictures?

Their photos are all massively photoshopped. The amount of contrast in the photos is disturbing. It would be better to request with them for a non edited photo of the real diamond, and compare the difference.

i mentioned this before and apparently the JP shillers on this forum and people stay oblivious. Instead, they pat each other on the back and band together to pour **** on other diamond vendors.

sacred soul, a simple question for you. Why do you think they have to resort to photo shopping their images or even cranking up the contrast to such high saturations?

I've sat next to them when they photographed my diamond, they use a "ideal scope capture machine". They increased the contrast patterning like the arrows so that it can be analysed easier for symmetry. Anyway, in my session they show me the actual diamond and I can see if for myself through the scopes.. after that, they use their iphone to take the photos in front of me so they can zoom and point out what to look out for. The other photos that they send to you is just additional photos for keepsakes. You can always view the diamond yourself in person. I must say they give very educational diamond sessions.
