Sorry..but CUT is more important to me because that is what determines the shine.

Colour is secondary because between F & G, from the naked eye, not much diff.

I suggest you arrange for a meeting with JP and they will show you everything under the scope.

Some opnions,

Plan to propose to my girlfriend. She's non-local but had studied and worked in SG for 10years. She mentioned she has no preference for diamonds and preferred gold. But still as part of proposal, still wanted to get her a simple diamond.

I booked appointment with eclarity and told them budget of 4k.

Is it very shamful to get a SI1/SI2 grade diamonds for her? Worry her friends/colleagues will compare say nasty things.

Lol.. when I visited eclarity, I was served by Amanda too. She didn't believe in the proportions and she dissed the other jeweller that I went to that explained to me about diamonds in much better details. When I try to probe more, she brush me off.. I felt it's more like sales talk more than anything else. Some of the things she said didn't sound right.

I don't understand why she didn't allow you to use magnifying glass to see the diamond... All the shops I went to allowed me to do this.

I think its legit to ask to see a diamond under different lights.. All jewelry shops uses strong light to make the diamond look better. Even my gf's crystals on her nails was shining like a diamond. It's like a magician trick.
But when you take away the strong lights, only the true quality ones will remain shining.

Maybe cos there's something to hide??

In the past, people cared more about carat than anything else cos the mentality was the bigger the better, no matter what. They also had limited information, it was always hear-say. Nowadays, people are getting smarter and started paying more attention to the quality.

Personally, I'll pass the SI2. Even if the inclusion marks on the diamond doesn't bother her, it bothers me. Not to mention, diamonds with bad inclusions are prone to chipping.

A simple search about diamonds online, you'll realize that the most important C is the cut. Not the carat or colour.
IMHO, it is either she doesn't know her stuff or she is not honest..

You'll also have to ask yourself, what's the purpose of you getting a diamond for? Is it for a show or one time gesture? Or something you want her to wear everyday for a lifetime..

Either way, there's no shame with either of your choice
It's your choice afterall

If her friends says nasty things, I think she needs to change her group of friends

my ring is quite simple. i just needed a W initial as the tray of the ring where the diamond sitting. to symbolize the first letter of her name.

Really nice symmetry and all.... just wondering is it me or just my monitor...the last two images seems to be different from the usual colour that we are seeing from JP.... but anyways the color of the images does not effect the brilliance of your Solasfera ;-)

My comment is on the heart @ 4 o'clock, the rest I think symmetrical and I think will not affect the brilliance and sparkle of Solasfera.

Collected my ring from JP today!! The diamond looked even better after its set on a ring Very happy with my ring and their service.
They gave me a free hearts and arrows scope too to see the 8 arrows on the diamond. Did you guys get this too?
