hi everyone,

I have been reading this forum for about a month or so and decided to join so I could share my experience and ring choice. I feel I owe it to everyone who has been sharing their thoughts and views.

I visited JannPaul earlier today and spoke with Michelle. She showed me super ideal, briella, and solasfera. I don't know why but I liked the solasfera so much that I have put in a deposit for it. Will post the scopes / pics / etc. once I have them.

I got a 0.6 G VVS2 solasfera.

nice one!! so long as you like it. BUY IT! =] would suck if you couldn't buy what you wanted.

are you referring to the uneven separation between the heart tips and the Vs? this is where I struggle with what I am suppose to look out for, as to be honest, the scope images mostly look the same to me (e.g. between Amplif1er's above vs the one I posted). :s13:

well, the easiest is to look for a uniformed spacing between each heart and the V. following that measure out the length of the V. Best case all these measurements should be equal.

And then see how much you can accept. But i must agree that some others are worse than yours. especially those that do not let you see the hearts of the H&A diamond. But hey, if you're going to pay for the JP super ideal, might as well demand it. Otherwise you can try to ask them for a similar spec one from House of Hung that is just Ideal. Then you can try to see the difference. you may just end up paying the extra ~10% for something that you or your other don't even notice. =]

You got choose this setting from their template or customize? Your diamond is very tall.. its so it will look bigger right?

I dont think it works that way, to have a diamond that looks bigger, you'll be looking out for a diamond with a bigger table. Nothing much to do with the setting. I guess the setting just pushes the diamond out even more. making it 'stand out' from the tiny little ones.

Congrats! The higher scintillation in the Solasfera probably caught you eyes. Haha

customize... chose this tall settings as the intended wedding band i will get are the Bvlgari B.zero1 rings.

So need a higher setting so the ring will flush with the Bvlgari one

and a very nice number too! 0.79! as good as an 0.8! at a 0.75 price!

i got no idea on discounts. >< and a good guage for the prices of diamonds would be online thru bluenile. and you need to be specific in the characteristics you're looking for. give this entire thread a read. u'll arrive at your answer at some point. =]

I see quite a number of you mention Jann Paul, is this a "favourite" place or preferred place by all members in this thread ?

i think it was initially recommended by others here... then subsequently, people started to go down, and yeah... that's it.

you can't go wrong by the word-of-mouth... but of course, everybody is free to choose where he/she wanna make the final purchase of jewellery from. :D

Yup I agree can't go wrong by WOM.

just curious since most of you got from Jann Paul, what is the thing that attracted you to them ? their service ? their customization ? or the items that they have ? price ?

What does JP have in terms of advantage over those retail store like Spooky, Li-Bua, kittygems, SK4 ?

Just wanna know the overview of this shop before I go down to take a look, I saw by their website needa book appt hor :)

I saw one thing on the FAQ page of JP.

What is the average diamond size people purchase as proposal rings in Singapore?

0.5-0.7

What is the average size in this thread ? Those who stay long enough from part 1 to now part 2 of this thread can tell me ? :) :D

I think it's difficult for ppl here to summarized them in one post... i suggest if you are really keen, read through all of them... and im pretty sure after reading them, it will answer you your questions plus alot more. and the next post from you is either you bought from JP or you have decided to go to TF or Cartier.

There are fair share of 0.2x to 1.x... what's your intention of asking this question?

It's their service and quality of the rocks.

I can easily get a cheaper diamond online after going through their tutorial but I think they went the extra mile by educating the public with patience. Kudos to them.

windzstriker i think its best for you to go through the posts in a self discovery lessons. Perhaps at the end, you might not like JP as much as some other members do. =] Buying diamonds is a personal journey that many of the forumners make.

JP works for most people cause they aren't expecting you to make a purchase until you are ready. And I think that sets them apart from the retailers who just want you to buy something the moment you walk in.

In any case to give you a summary of the diamond sizes, its its from 0.2 - 1.5ct. I can't remember if someone bought a 2ct one before. and the prices have a large variance.

Hi guys, here's my scope images. Can anyone help to comment on the diamond below? Somehow, it doesn't look very symmetrical to me.

i think it doesn't really matter lor.. just buy what's within your budget. because i'm sure your gf won't want you to burn a hole in the pocket just to buy her a bigger diamond.

if she will marry you, she will marry you... :)
