Hi bros, need you guys help. Got a ring at 0.5 carat but future wife does not like the setting. Thus I will need to choose a new setting for the ring?

May I know a list of reputable places that I can change the ring setting and design? Is $500 enough for the ring design lets say I do not need fancy custom setting, just those typical classic design.

I thought it was only me. The prices seem higher. On another note, he offered a solasfera 0.43c for $3900ish. Too small

I might have to check other shops to see. Does only JP do scopes? Any other like JP around so that I can compare prices?

Also, are the prices higher because valentines day is coming? Just curious. (If the prices seem higher)

Those are the Super Ideal cuts right? I remember a 0.51 G VS2 to be about $3,600.. For higher clarity or color, the price should be around there.

0.52 G VS1 - price: $3,850 - 0.01ct bigger and 1 color lower ($100 less)
0.513 F VS1 - price: $3,950 - 0.01ct smaller and 1 color higher ($100 more)

Their Solasfera is abit more $$ than their regular 57 facets. Though it's suppose to be more scintillating..

JP carries the full set of scopes. Most retailers usually carry the hearts/arrows scope only but don't have the ideal and aset scopes. But then again, the quality is diff.

Yup understand solas is more ex. But it's only 0.43c he has, too small to see the extra scintillation to be honest.

I think prices of diamonds have increased. I heard from some jewellers that they usually adjust the price in the beginning of the year... dunno how true is it also...

Went to JP today, 0.51c VS1 F for $3650 Super Ideal HCA 0.7

Will be posting scope images soon
Think that is a fair deal?

A good comparison is with Blue nile.

BN ideal cut 0.51 F VS1 is $3,120.
After factor in tax 7%, net price is $3,338
0.51-Carat Blue Nile Signature Round Diamond

Price difference = $312.
JP is Super Ideal Cut and BN is ideal cut. And they only show the certificate with no scope photos.

For $312 more, you're assured of a better cut diamond and can see it before buying. That's very worth it to me... + point for assurance

Diamond price are inconsistent despite similar in specs.
Like BN ideal cut 0.52 F VS1 is cheaper than their ideal 0.51 F VS1.
0.52-Carat Blue Nile Signature Round Diamond

Ring holder setting, BN 18kt white gold setting is about $800 (not factoring in tax yet)
Build Your Own Ring - Design Your Own Diamond Ring | Blue Nile

JP is $550 and ability to customize
which comes with free engraving, resizing and polishing

When you consider the total cost of diamond + setting, JP might be even be cheaper and you end up with a better diamond.
