Strange that can still get triple excellent huh... that's what a friend of mine says too. I viewed the diamond with this small scope thing to see the hearts and arrows, is that the one? I thought it looked ok when I see through this scope. My gf could see the inclusion but didn't have other negative things to say.
The inclusions are within the top surface area which suggest they are not on the edges or girdle, if I'm interpreting right. I guess I'll have to tell my gf that the hca score is too high and drop this from consideration.
Do you have the certificate or scopes of the stone to share? The score is very bad for an Excellent cut stone. I've seen Very Good cut diamonds with even lower HCA scores.
An example of a HCA score 6-
An example of effects of light leakage.. the white part on Ideal Scope will be blackish dead zone on the diamond.
I suppose the Hearts that you see is the Hearts and Arrows scope.
And nope, Hearts and arrows scope cannot be used solely. It doesn't show any leakages that occur.
By the way, is it a GIA?
Your SO does not have complains on it's brilliancy.. try comparing with another diamond might help. I would say the difference will be obvious. Hope this helps bro!
