Here another angle.. more zoomed up.
The Solasfera does seem whiter.. I think its because it has stronger light return which makes it shinier. When I compared them both, couldn't tell it was a lower color grade. I noticed the Brilliant Rose has alot of dark areas too..

Hi. I can't really put it into words. But isn't the arrows suppose to be clear and distinct? I see some blur gaps and some gaps are very very close to the hearts. Or you think my scope is considerably ok?

Comparing to this (taken from other page infront)

I think it's fine.. Looks ok to me

I'd avoid round number carat weights.. Get a 0.5+ instead or a 0.4++.
Proportions is abit out of the ideal range.

The second diamond is a D VVS2 and strong blue fluorescene le... That's a super bad combo. Flourscene will make your diamond to look less colorless and less clear. It wil offset your high color and clarity. Proportions are quite bad..

Did you see the diamonds with the scopes?
Use the hca score to aim for 1.4 below.

Hallo, I recently bought my diamond ring from JP a few days ago and here are my specs (I have yet to receive my scope images tho). I was served by a guy named Sam at JP.

0.42 F VS1 Super Ideal Cut Round

If I'm not wrong, the HCA score is 1.4.

The cost for the diamond itself only is 2.8k, can I ask u guys if that is a reasonable price? It seems like diamonds prices have soared!

Thank yew!

Unless a new diamond mine is discovered, prices will continue to rise

Hi guys, I just bought a Solasfera diamond (upgrade). Will like to thank all of you for the useful diamond reads. Adding my part to the contribution.

For those who are confused about those higher facets diamonds, this might help. There are a several high facets diamonds available. My first one for my proposal ring was from Soo Kee. I got the Brilliant Rose series, 0.43ct D VS2 for about $4.5k. Was planning to upgrade back with them.. Their policy is after 2 years the diamond will depreciate by 20%. Originally wanted to upgrade back with them for the savings. For the same specs, a Brilliant Rose 0.7ct will cost about $13k.. Total top up will be about $9.4k.

Lucky I went around to compare.. A Solasfera 0.73 F VS2 cost $8.2k. If I get from JP, I’ll be saving $1.2k and still get to keep my Brilliant rose ring :) Going to reset the diamond into a pendant.

Anyway, for those who wanted to compare the technicals between the cuts, I tried comparing both under scopes. Here it is..

This is from the hearts and arrows scope. The Brilliant Rose arrows are much thinner than the Solasfera.. Apparently, this is not considered to be a hearts and arrows diamond.

This is from the ASET scope. Solasfera can see is more red and Brilliant Rose has light leakages.

My wifey holding the rings. This was just outside of the shop under the shelter.

Compared the diamonds outside under the sun.. The Solasfera is on a temporary ring clip.. It’s not yet set on a proper band yet. Almost in all angles, the Solasfera gives out a colorful flare. The Brilliant Rose does give out flares too.. but not as much as the Solasfera. Can tell that the Solasfera is whiter even though it is 2 color grades lower..

Under the shade

And finally, a video of them under their spotlight machine. Sorry for the poor video quality.. took it with my camera phone. This is suppose to see the fire and scintillation. Can definitely see that the Solasfera outshines the Brilliant rose..

Very happy with my new purchase!

Conclusion:
Spent less (upgrade Briliant rose is more expensive)
Bigger and better diamond (more afforadable to get a new Solasfera)
Get to keep old diamond for sentimental reasons
2 items for wifey to wear instead of 1

Wifey happy, I happy =p

The difference can be explained from the Aset scope.
Brilliant rose has light leakages = less bright
The blue part (arrows) are very thin.. that's where a diamond's fire comes from.
Less blue = less fire

The lack of blue contrast and light leakages is a bad combo
