Bro.. both diamonds are pretty bad le..

GIA 5186155439
0.51 J SI2
EX/VG/VG
HCA 2.4

GIA 2186195279
0.50 J SI2
VG/EX/VG
HCA 6.2

Proportions are terrible.. their diameter measurements is actually around the same as a 0.4ct+ with a better cut..
If you get a better cut 0.4ct+ diamond, it will look the same size but much better.. and you can upgrade on the color and clarity too. SI2 is quite extreme le.. Summore with feather inclusion, if your diamond crack, gone case liao.

Btw, do anyone have any experience with Lumera Diamonds (http://www.lumeradiamonds.com/)? And where can I find an independent diamond appraisal?

Hmm, what you looking to get?
Ear rings, engagement ring, wedding bands, pendants, what kinda specs and budget also?

I'm looking to get a 0.25 - 0.3 Carat Diamond for engagement ring with a simple Platinum Band. Budget is around 1k - 1.5k or else my GF would scold me for buying an expensive ring.

prefered specs:

Shape: Round
Carat: 0.25 - 0.3 Carat
Cut: Good and above
Clarity: VS2 and above
Color: H and above

do you guys think JannPaul can help me with the budget i have?

OMG! tsk. now where do i buy. how about bluenile?

Hi all, i took me a year to finally make the decision. And the one who helped me speed up the process is actually my partner.
I brought her to JP and had Rei ran through the tutorial for my partner to understand the specs in Super Ideal Cut.

The reason why i brought her to JP is that, she is a person who knows what she wants. And there are horror stories of her friends who didn't like their proposal rings (Husbands didn't know it of cos) So i want to make sure that i got it right.

I actually set aside cash for 0.5 diamond but in the end she wanted 0.3 - 0.4. When Rei did a blind test to fit a 0.5 diamond onto a temporary ring. She wore it and said it's too big for her, she don't want it. That confirms my decision. Finally, she picked her own ring design and we left. I messaged Rei to have her note down my partner's choice of ring setting and headed back JP the next week to make deposit.

The diamond selection was quite tedious, between 0.43 VVS D, E, F.
I found the specs for these 3 diamonds very nice. But F looks the best to me. I felt very comfortable with the patterns i see in ASET scope. But i can't find Pinpoint and clouds as mentioned in GIA cert.
Anyway i just paid my deposit and waiting for collection.

My objective to bring her to JP was very clear. Because most partners don't know much about diamond specs.
They like to compare who has bigger diamond, more beautiful setting, etc. There are definitely people who have bigger carats then my partner. Some of her friends are quite curd when it comes to proposal rings.
I hope by looking through JP diamonds, she will be proud of her Super Ideal Cut even though its not a big one.

At least i don't have to face the pressure of her friends asking her or myself - why didn't i get a bigger one for her.
I can answer to those people I didn't get a bigger diamond but i got one that she likes. :s13:

Diamond + side diamond setting = 4k

Thats a keeper :s13:

Hi All,

Enjoyed reading through hundred of pages and also sad see-ing the price has rise so much.

I would like to experience JP but sadly their operating time is abit tough for myself. I just went to Lovis and been a layman to diamond, their service is superb!

Here is a particular stone the lady try to sell me, opinion please?

0.44c / E / VS1 / 3Excellent Cut - 2k excluding setting

HCA score at 3.6 (GIA REPORT NUMBER 2156905075)

I did e-mail JP and the closest they can fit my budget would be Super Ideal Cut 0.41 G VS2 2.5k excluding setting.

0.3 carat super ideal iirc is about $22XX

Diamond alone will over your budget alot, normal white gold ring setting will cost you $550, not to mention you are looking at Platinum setting

Snow is the gal serving you ? I agree their service is good.
I asked before Lovis, they do not have all those scopes for you to see, they asked you to buy based on the 4c's, HCA, and the cert specs
