Just a quick question. Just looking for a simple setting diamond ring. Does jannpaul have them too? Nothing too fanciful. Budget around 2~3k.

I don't think they're super ideal.. HCA score is not that good..

Thought the one he selected is pretty good, price seems to be slightly lower than usual for the specs it has.

However, it's strange that it's still out in the market despite being certified in Oct 14.

It'll be the 0.3ct range I think. They got alot of setting models to choose from and can customize.

I would suggest emailing jannpaul or calling them and make an appt
They won't hardsell and give U an idea of what diamond to expect with Ur budget

superideal is actually the best cut in jannpaul. 1K+ probably is after factoring smaller carat and not so good colour and clarity?
as for what to look up at the jewellery stores, i suppose you should start with jannpaul and attend their educational course (free of course) and then visit a few others stores. like that at least you know what to look up for and compare between the stores.

Depends on your definition of $1k+.. if it's low $1k+, dun think u can get a JP super ideal.. if it's high $1k+, maybe can get a super ideal at 0.3ct range with simple setting..

No harm to tell them your budget and see what they can offer you. If you go to chain stores, they would have ready made rings in the $1k+ range. Good to learn more about the 4Cs as well as you go ring shopping. Important thing is to get one with GIA or AGS cert so that you know the 4Cs have been verified by reliable labs.

Is it just a gift for her or for proposing?

My GF doesn't wear ring as well. But she prefers something in the range of 0.5 carat.

Go google about the differences ? Basically, platinum is more durable, abit whiter? , heavier.. Personally prefer plat

Price is 500+ vs 900+ for standard designs..
