JP is a good start. They give a comprehensive diamond education and from there, you'll have a better idea of what you want. So far, I found them to offer the best value for their quality.

Don't pay too much attention on what shops label their "Ideal Cut", etc. My first diamond was also called an "Ideal Cut" by the store. Back then I didn't know much about the scopes and stuff and just blindly follow. After checking, turns out its not such an Ideal diamond after all. After a few years of saving up, bought my second one from JP. Bigg difference in the shine. Just get a good one and have no worries.

what's the diamond that you ended up with?

Hey guys,

Sent an email to White Dwarf and they provided me with two diamonds for my consideration -

Ideal Cut Triple EX 0.8G VS1 - $5950
Ideal Cut Triple EX 0.9F VS2 - $7950

Sharing scope images here -

0.8G VS1 Hearts

0.9F VS2 Hearts

0.8G VS1 ASET

0.9F VS2 ASET

I'm currently comparing the 0.9F VS2 with JP's 0.85G VS2.

Price wise, $7950 for 0.9CT at White Dwarf, versus $8000 for 0.85CT at JP.

Actually still leaning towards JP because the cut, H&A, and aset scope seems better.

Anyone bought from WD before? Can share experience?

may be off topic a bit, but anybody knows is it possible to get gemstone rings (like ruby, sapphire, etc) at the shops that you guys mentioned?

what's the diamond that you ended up with?

I ended up with the Cushion brellia. requoting my old post for you..

You can see my diamond's scope images here

I’d like to thank all the bros and gals here for the wealth of information and the help given to me. This is my contribution back for you guys :) Hope this can help the other bros in future

Prior to going down, I already made up my mind on the Brellia diamond but still i requested to see all their signature diamonds before confirming.

After couple of hours patiently explaining and answering my questions, I have gotten my Brellia diamond from Casey of JANNPAUL

Background
I bought my first diamond ring 3 years ago (not from JP) when I was still new into this and didn’t do much research back then. It was only after I hastily bought, then I went to research more. I’m one of those impulse buyers that sales people love to meet. So this is my upgrade diamond after doing homework.

Since my first is already the round diamond I am looking for something more special this time. I was given an education and showed all the different cuts. Their education is very very different from what I experienced from other places.

These were the diamonds presented to me during the education. I was aiming for a 0.8ct which is a double up from my previous 0.4ct.

During the start, I have already done my due diligence of reading up so the education I went through was easier to absorb.

Without Further A-do, I present to you the diamonds I was shown!

Going back and forth I asked many many questions, which now that I think back I quite pai-seh lol. At all times they were clearly explained to me…

The photos doesn’t really show how sparkly the diamond actually looks. You need to see them face to face to really appreciate it.

All the diamonds i saw of their signature cut, were all sparkly unlike any others I have seen elsewhere.

Was shown the diamonds to me again in different lights and also outdoors. I forgot to take the outdoor photos. I was abit nervous when they were showing me all the diamonds outside. lol

These are diamonds on the palette when we move around different places

With my mind already set on Brellia, I went on with choosing of design.
Wife did say before she like side diamonds and many of them, she also show me similar design before.... so I chose this...

I hope this helps all bros and sis with their choosing of diamond ring!

my turn to give me simple review of JP.

served by Joy from JP. good attitude, full of smiles, not bad for a start. left without any confirmation.

few days later i went to a shop in tanjong pagar. served by a gentleman. showed me a few stones, i narrowed down to 1 and requested for the gia cert but was only given a printed copy. i asked to see a few more stones for comparison. decided to leave and do more homework, he seems kind of pissed.

next day i immediately email Joy, giving her a few cert number to see if she can offer something similar. Jann called me shortly, explaining to me that the stones i viewed at tanjong pagar are not in singapore, but with their diamond cutters overseas. i felt sort of cheated :(

ultimately, Jann managed to find a little stone of my required specs and my limited budget. very happy with his service and dedication, i decided to make place a deposit.

to summarise, JP knows that they are offering, they might not be the cheapest, but you can be assured you are getting quality stuffs :D

below are some of my images, 0.42, F, VS1. thank you for reading

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum but have read about 300 pages the past 3 nights. Definitely learnt a lot and am happy to know everyone is willing to share so much knowledge and helpful enough to assist in checking on specs for one another.

I was only interested in the brellia initially but after reading and watching jp videos, I'm quite tempted to check solasfera and super ideal out too!

Pls share the news if any of you know when the new batch of solasfera will arrive. Thanks!!

Thanks! I actually went down for an appointment and was shown some diamonds.

Amanda, the owner seems to favour Carat > All else. She disregards Cut and says that Carat/Color is the first thing that ladies see and discern the most.

I told her that I wanted to view ASET scope images and she also mentioned that ASET scope was over marketed, together with the importance of cut.

Initially went to JP and was educated that CUT was king followed by Carat/Color/Clarity.

Right now I'm facing a dilemma because I can get a bigger Carat at Clarity for my money, versus what i can get at JP.

Any bros can advise?
