Proposal Ring - Part 2

I've just gotten my ring from JP, 3 months after the initial consultation due to 3D rendering, changes, wax mould, crafting etc. and would just like to share my overall experience.

I was served by Sam from the first consultation. While I do agree with all users that they provided an education session unlike any other shops, I felt like he went through everything like it was the hundredth time he was repeating it for the week. Maybe partly because he could tell we were already set on getting the ring from JP from the start. Nevertheless, it wasn't a negative experience, but as a young couple excited about this new phase, it wasn't a very personalized experience either.

From there, it took about 2 weeks for the first render. The email exchanges about customizing the design and providing comments was very tedious as it was hard to explain exactly through email. We went down to the shop on the final time just to make things clear. The whole rendering process took another 2 weeks before going ahead with the wax mold.

The wax mold was ready in 2 weeks and it looked great, thus we told them to go ahead with the crafting. The crafting process was the longest and took 6 weeks before the ring was finally ready.

I am extremely happy with the final product despite the so-so experience! When I see it beside others', it is definitely shinier and more sparkly even if compared to a bigger carat from "branded" shops.

I would say go to JP if it is within your budget and you are willing to pay for a good quality diamond while trading off size, brand, etc., especially if you want to customize!

Uploaded Very nice ring! TBH, if I didn't read that its a 0.64ct, I would have thought it was a 1ct It looks big!

Joo Chiat one. Yeah bro i chose the loose diamond from their website listing. I didnt get pre-set ones from their available collections.

The 1k deposit is to see the diamond only. If you dont like when they bring it to the outlet, they will refund the 1k back to you. I so happen to like the diamond i chose so i used the 1k to offset the final price.

Went down a few times just to take a look at the shortlisted ones...
Felt so bad to disturb Jerome on so many occasions.. He sent me the scope images of the Octagon and it looks really niceeee~

Can someone help me post? I dont think I can post them yet..
Now I'm just waiting to see the renders for the ring design. Still not sure of what design I want. (just when I thought I'm done choosing and another thing to decide. )

0.75 G VS 2 Super Ideal

Hi guys this is a 0.75 G VS 2 super ideal, do the images look ok?
I noticed in the aset scope that a few of the arrows (eg 5oclock and 7oclock) are not touching the inner circle. Also, the hearts and arrow view have some inclusions along with their reflections.

Does anyone know if the main diamond would look dull and less bright compared to the side diamonds for such a tapered diamond setting? It seems the side diamonds look a bit too white too.. appreciate any advice, thanks vm

IMO, sometimes I find that the side diamonds can distract the attention away from the main diamond. On the other hand, it will give the whole ring more bling. Is ur gf's wedding band gonna be plain or with side diamonds?

You can refer to rlstine question a few post back. Both his and your diamond same colour, clarity and 3ex. Difference is HCA score but still both below 2, or 1 and 1.4 to be exact. And his is by 0.2 carat bigger. But he got quoted a lower price. Therefore, solely based on the info both of you post, nope not good deal.

Caveat : maybe his scope is not good. we will never know unless he does request and get them. thus the lower price for a bigger carat. but the figures he provided falls within center of a TIC diamond. very unlikely but still possible.

What kind of ring design are you considering? I think you can ask Jerome for advice. Just so happen I was assisted by him too. Im sure he can help you find something you like.
