Got served by jullie from JP earlier today. Settled on a solesfera 0.506, F, VS2 at 4750 excluding setting. Waiting time for crafting 4wks. Included a simple hp shot here

Is the price i paid for similiar to those who also hooted from JP?

Also, below is a picture I took at JP. The diamond in the pic is a 0.75 G VS2 super ideal. Does anyone know if the main diamond would look dull and less bright compared to the side diamonds for such a tapered diamond setting? It seems the side diamonds look a bit too white too.. appreciate any advice, thanks vm :)

There is no right or wrong for setting with or without side diamonds. really depends on preference. For my proposal ring, my husband got me a plain setting, i like it alot at that time, but when i grow old i like side diamonds. :s13:

Hi guys this is a 0.75 G VS 2 super ideal, do the images look ok?
I noticed in the aset scope that a few of the arrows (eg 5oclock and 7oclock) are not touching the inner circle. Also, the hearts and arrow view have some inclusions along with their reflections.
Appreciate any advice, thank you very much!

They look fine to me. The arrows are symmetrical. If the inclusions bother you, can consider to upgrade to a VS1. Usually those kind of small small inclusions won't be visible unless you use magnifying glass to see.

Diamond sourced by rlstine is from jp? Seemed q good

You can refer to rlstine question a few post back. Both his and your diamond same colour, clarity and 3ex. Difference is HCA score but still both below 2, or 1 and 1.4 to be exact. And his is by 0.2 carat bigger. But he got quoted a lower price. Therefore, solely based on the info both of you post, nope not good deal.

Caveat : maybe his scope is not good. we will never know unless he does request and get them. thus the lower price for a bigger carat. but the figures he provided falls within center of a TIC diamond. very unlikely but still possible.

Bumpbump. Nobody bought their diamond elsewhere other than jp?

Sent from LGE LG-H815 using GAGT

Hi guys. Anyone bought their diamond or ring online via blue Nile? Any review?
BTW, how would you guys rate the importance of the features of a diamond. From most important to least important - Size, cut, color, clarity?

And any idea to get my gf ring size without her knowing or suspecting?

My first ring was from Blue Nile. The diamond turned out disappointing even though it was a triple excellent. Later learnt that diamonds can be milky, brownish or off color due to its properties and you would not know unless you see the diamond itself becos it won't state on the certificate. BlueNile has a return policy.. but after factoring the shipping cost and tax paid for it, I will be down few hundred dollars.. so no point to return also. I bite the bullet and bought another one from JP. From my personal experience, get a good one and just settle for it. If you settle for a mediocre one, you will upgrade or buy a better one again later. End up will cost you more also.

From the most important, I will rank CUT then Carat, Color and Clarity. Bigger carat also no use.. if the cut is too deep, diamond will still end up looking smaller. If you buy the best color and lousy cut also no use.. the diamond will still look darker from the light leakages.

These are the scopes of mine. Wifey loves it alot. The sparkles are massive compared to the round diamonds. Only thing is they come in 1ct up only.

But my new diamond is AGS certified. Anyone's ring here is AGS certified too?

The Brellia cut i got for my wife a while back was AGS certified also.. At least the AGS cert will show you where is the location of the inclusion.

yeap thats what the salesperson told me that all their brellia cushions and other cuts are mostly AGS certified. And after some researching, seems like AGS focus more on cut which is the most impt factor in the sparkle of the diamond =)

Now i can't wait to receive the new ring!!!

GIA diamond grading report does plot the inclusions in their report. Most probably what you saw is a GIA diamond dossier. Most diamond sellers will have the grading report as the price difference between the two is not alot.

Anyways, very beautiful cushion diamond. Your wife is a lucky lady.

Reason it's graded by AGS is because only AGS has a grading for Light Performance and GIA does not provide any Cut grade for fancy cut diamonds. On top of that, GIA does not provide any proportions such as crown and pavilion angle etc. Personal preference, I would choose an AGS cert over a GIA one any day.

Thanks for your advice! But isn't the colour rated D, E, F, G & etc? Mind sharing what is the spec of the diamond did you get from bluenile?
