The visual differences to naked eyes is only maybe 10-15% differences provided you've got good eyes. It's more of whether if you're a perfectionist and don't mind paying 15-20% more for a 'perfect' round brilliant haha

In terms of scope images any difference ? I could not tell the difference . What should I look out for ?

Ah? The differences are very obvious and everywhere on the scope images, it's hard for me to explain, perhaps provide a link to the image you're looking at then we can point out to you?

Yea, images will help! But ultimately yeah, really almost cannot tell from naked eye. But once you see the scope then cannot unsee

Hi guys and girls, I really need a little help here. I know nuts about diamonds and only recently started my research. The info is so overwhelming. My budget is max 7k and I just want something and a design that is classic and timeless. My gf doesn't know that I'm proposing soon and I plan to do so on a trip we will be embarking on in about 6 weeks time. I don't think I will go into customizing of a diamond and instead I will choose based on the grading with the most important being cut followed by carat.

We are pretty low key people and definitely not into bling blings. When I quizzed her about material (on pretext of saying I wanna get her a necklace for her birthday), she said rose gold because she doesn't want too much bling associated with silver (in a necklace context). Don't know how to ask her based on a ring context because this is meant to be a 101% surprise

My friends have recommended me this place in lower delta road called poh Kim lim. However I searched Google and didn't see much reviews. In this thread and the preceding ones, I'm simply overwhelmed by the info and the recommendations (James Allen, JP etc etc)

I just need someone honest who can recommend me a ring within my budget with the best cut and a little compromise on carat and the other 2Cs. Can anyone tell me if they have been to poh Kim lim or should I buy online at James Allen or JP etc etc simply by looking at the certificate grading and whichever design that catches my eye?

Since you're lacked of knowledge and running out of time, your best bet will be calling JP up and ask for soonest appointment and let them educate you everything about diamond in an hour and find a best stone and design for you

Yea. Make an appointment and go down this week. Even if you dont do customisation, the setting can take about a month. They have nice template designs and some are 2 tones (maybe more special than just a single colour)

Perhaps u need to decide whether to get super ideal but smaller or just ideal but higher carats. Best to listen to them then decide.

normally when choosing, will you all consider the "date of issue" also? Or only the 4c. Mine is like 1 year ago, which is old stock I believe

6 weeks is around 1.5 months bro, not many time left so better act quick. As some of the pros here mentioned, the best is to set an appointment with JannPaul and let them give you a one-hour crash course on diamonds and their 4Cs. You can learn many things from this short education session!

Mixture of rose + white gold, yes, but only rose gold very seldom. Having rose gold prongs will make the diamond look yellower than it is.

Also depends on which one suits your skin tone better, so maybe try on first and see see? I'm fairly tanned, so somehow I look better in rose gold or gold. Silver or white gold looks really dull on me :S

I vote for all white gold. But that's just personal preference. Rose gold/gold doesn't look good on me as I am quite fair.
Am also afraid two tones/rose gold, while popular now, might look dated in the future.

my skin is average to fair.i tried on their rose gold wedding band to guage how it will be. i actually thought rose looked better on fair skin than tanned. haha.
