Proposal Ring - Part 3

Yesterday I went down to JannPaul.

I lost my directions and gotten myself confused over Far East shopping center and Far East Plaza.

When I reached and i saw JannPaul. I went round the shop and look for entrance. Unfortunately, i am unable to find it. I asked the jewelry shop beside and i found out that it is a same brand "house of heng" (if i did not remember wrongly.)

Vince, operation manager, attended to me and I informed him of my X budget for diamond and Y budget for setting. He has spend alot of efforts in letting me to understand the diamond, HCA and blah blah

I was told that if the ring size did not fit, they can resize it. Based on this, i believe this will be free-of-charge.

By the time i am choosing my settings, i am already in dazed.

A side note: when i am about to exit from the shop, it was raining heavily. Vince offered as a gesture of goodwill, to "accompany" me back to the mrt station (with umbrella).

Estimation of the ring to be complete: 4 weeks.

House of Hung is actually open by Paul's father, and JP is a partnership between Paul, Jann and Casey. At first I went there I was confused too.

Here’s a picture of my Octagon on the AGS certificate ! Will be making a trip back to JP soon to choose the setting together. Was thinking that she should also have a say on how her ring will look like since she is gonna be the one wearing it! Now she is all focus on the diamond not me! Hahaha! I guess that means she really likes it.

So since we haven’t decided on the setting, just like to check and see whether you guys have any opinion. I tried searching online but not much pictures of Octagon diamond ring. (I guess that’s a good thing because we definitely want it to be 1 and only for her). So wanna ask the pros out here and see whether you guys have any suggestions.Thanks in Advance !

Actually a lot of people will tell you that octagon will look better if it's set on a plain ring. Mine is an octagon ring on a verragio inspired setting, I personally think it looks great! The most important is what kind your fiancee likes!

Actually a lot of people will tell you that octagon will look better if it's set on a plain ring. Mine is an octagon ring on a verragio inspired setting, I personally think it looks great! The most important is what kind your fiancee likes!

Thanks for your sugguestion sis, will keep that in mind when going down for appointment. Most important is my girl likes the setting thats why we are heading down together to choose the design.

Go see their blog and youtube videos. They got give advice on the different styles for the Octagon. You can also choose the diamond orientation.

My Octagon is a 0.72 carat Vs1 E. Got it for $8k+.

Initially I was trying to aim for 1 carat, then I saw the 0.7 carat and thought it was very big already.. no need to go so big

I gotten a similar stats for ROUND (instead of octagon) and it is D color with the same price.

You mean a super ideal cut?

Super ideal has 87 facets but octagon has 88 facets. More bling, more exp.

Super ideal has 57 facets. Octagon is a special cut with 8 sides, 8 hearts n 8 arrows, 88 facets. If i'm not wrong, at JP, solesfera is the most expensive, followed by octagon and brellia, then followed by super ideal, then ideal.

I got the Brellia too. 0.62 D VVS2. My ring design is plain.. not as detailed as yours IMO, 0.5ct is ok. My gf hands are abit bigger than average, so need a bigger rock. Your gf finger seems quite small.. it will make the diamond look bigger

Hello everyone, new to this forum. Just wondering what you guys would suggest - Super Ideal or a Solasfera for a halo setting, assuming all specs are pretty similar?
