Ah , ty for the reply . i was also quoted 12k+ for 0.9x G VS2 , wonder why u didn’t for it since the price isn’t that far apart , assuming you bought yours recently only.

yup saw the piece, didnt went for 0.9x vs2 as the current spec is vvs2, and noticeably there is not much difference visibly between a 0.9x and the 0.85. was looking for the more perfect piece, rather than size.

that i understand . couldn’t bring myself to bring a G or VS2 even though buy le also not i wear and the only piece left for 0.8x is a 0.802 G VS2. hopefully a suitable one will appear before my proposal next year . maybe starve a few more months to get that sweet 1c with the correct specs but the price jump is x.x

:/ they dont have much solasfera stock. is either i get a 0.344 carat E colour VS2 for 2.4k or 0.34 carat F colour VVS2 at 2.45k or a 0.6x carat :/ which way off my budget lol..

i am hoping tat a new shipment of solasfera do come out. wanted to get a 0.4x at least :/

It's your decision but I think if your budget is limited to <3k for diamond, instead of going for a solasfera, why not considered person's normal viewing distance is 12inches.. 0.344 might look like a messy ball of light leh..

I'm not sure what 3k would get u but I suspect at least a 0.5 SIC

Go see the non JP scopes.. most u dont even see the arrows or hearts.. or the ASET looks like chaotic color mess..

Then you'd be grateful and would stop thinking so much :s13:

Haha you definitely dont have to doubt yourself, as long as your scope is decent. I feel that any decent brilliant cut is good enough as long as its a triple ex.

The people here are being VERY particular only because they are paying for a SIC, which of course is understandable, as those who willing to pay for a SIC are perfectionist.

In normal fact, any decent brilliant cut would suffice, no one really cares if it's a SIC or not, as long as it shines averagely brightly. I feel it's over-rated.

Nah, I dont think 3k can get you a 0.5 SIC. Maybe just a high 0.4X.

Just go for size, trust me, it's worth much more.

I went to JP with the intention of getting an ideal from HoH.. after seeing the diamond contrast under diff lighting.. thought heck, just gonna spend the premium :s13:

Till date, banquet booked, bridal package booked.. and cost of ring almost equal deposit for banquet and full payment for package :s13: If I knew I'd be spending that amount on ring, I would have asked if she wants a rolex instead :s13:

I was hoping for a 0.50.. maybe 3k plus couple hundreds..

I think so too.. unless going for a bigger solasfero.. if not just get a bigger SIC (was that what u meant?)

Yeah. The contrast I feel is not that visible as sometimes its just too glaring to see them, main thing is the crown and pavillion angles are ideal.

To me, you can get the best cut right now, but when you upgrade a larger piece, you probably cant afford the same cut. Then wouldnt it defeat the purpose?

I just got mine from Poh Kim :)
