The proportions are not very good for this one.. the crown should try go for minimum 33 degrees and the pavilion is too steep. Did you try seeing the diamond with the ideal, aset and hearts-arrows scopes? Those are more important to use.

You should try using the HCA http://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca to check it the proportions are ok. Make sure it is less than 1.4
Diamonds with low hca score can be bad too. So you need to use those scopes to double check.

hello guys, I've been looking around for quite some time now for a unique kind of diamond with a flavor of its own ... so far i narrow down my search to pear shaped(teardrop),cushion cut & Solasfera.I was lead to this thread by my curiosity to know more about Solasfera after i saw JP videos on the Solasfera on YouTube..i still have quite some time to spare to decide which diamond i really want, would really appreciate it if there is any inputs here. :look:

Personally, i bought the solasfera.
Its super sparkly and shines bright as it has 91 facets, no light leakage and it has the highest score in all 3 categories of the GEMEX light performance certificate (Brillance, Fire, Sparkle) which most other diamonds are not able to attain such standard.

even the similar diamond from SK, all love diamond, which has also 10hearts and 10arrows only got 81 facets.

someone posted a video on the part 2 of the thread, comparing his wife, boss and one other person's ring.
it was normal diamond vs JP's super ideal round vs JP's Solasfera if i remember correctly. The solasfera stood out alot amongst the 3.

Hi All Bro / Sis,

I finally decided to buy a >1carat diamond ring for my Girlfriend. Got a Quotation from Jannpaul for Round Brilliant Super Ideal. They will only send me the scope images 1-2 days later. Based on the GIA report and Holloway Cut Adviser, Can you all advice which is better? All HCA score below 1.4. But why all spread is only "Very Good"? Is Color and Clarity important for >1 carat diamond?

My Preferred Choice because within my budget
Choice 1: 1.02 G VS2 $14,000
GIA Report = 1203716724

Choice 2: 1.01 F VS2 $14,500
GIA Report = 6211356996

Willing to stretch my budget for this choice, if choice 1 and 2 is not good
Choice 3: 1.03 F VS1 $15,500
GIA Report = 2207833401

You mean this video ? Ok, that's interesting ... i've decided, i think i will just go for appointment at JP to learn about their different cuts of diamonds before deciding on anything. :D

Spread is not a major concern. The proportions seems alright.

Between choice 1 and 2, #1 seems to be better as #2 has feathers and I'm not a fan of that. Prolonged wear might cause diamond to chip and there seemed to be one on the bottom edge.

FYI
Bottom ring = Solasfera
Right ring = Super Ideal Cut
Left ring = "Ideal cut" from chain store
