I would too go for the color, 0.59D. The clarity cannot really tell with naked eyes as its really too fine already, and it might be more sparkly then the 0.61G.

I will go with either D or E colour. In terms of size, perhaps best to go with 0.59c D VS1. It has decent clarity, excellent colour and good size. Definitely not going for G colour if the difference is only 500 dollars. I would prefer D VS1.

Try to negotiate.

D and G is is quite far apart le. I'm quite color sensitive and find the G abit yellow. But I also have friends who cant see the diff. Did you try considering an F? Somewhere in-between :)

If giving me a choice of these 3 diamonds, I will probably go for the D VS1, since size not much difference compared to 0.61 and with a better color, clarity not much of an issue as you can't really see.

Thanks for the input guys!! I'm quite set on the 0.59 D. I'm asking Vince if they have a 0.5 D with a lower clarity. That should bring the price down slightly. GIA ranked the Color D-E-F in the Colorless group. I think my comfort level is to be at least a F up in the colorless group.

But then again, if we were to view the diamond individually, the G color looks perfect though, not till when we placed them side by side then we see the slight yellowish.

which is the most expensive of the 3? I would personally go for the D in your case, or a lower color (E or F) to save a couple.. but if you're talking about significance then sorry bro, a man's got to do what a man's gotta do ;)

IMO, you the color difference is not obvious unless you compare them side by side. It also depends on the type of light condition you are comparing them under.

It is difficult to distinguish under certain lights. However sometimes you can tell the slight yellowish tint if you look closer. I guess it is down to preference. Colour perception is subjective to each individual. Just buy according to the budget set.

i see, where did you get the wedding bands? i am looking at some nice offers but have yet to decide. would like to do more price comparison before committing. could have saved 300-600 dollars if i had done more researches back then when i got the engagement ring. care to share where to get some nice wedding bands, with good pricing?

for those who are looking for engagement ring, please make sure to get the best price from any jewelry sellers. for more pricing guide, look at page 55 and 56. remember to ask around. but be sure to compare JannPaul super ideal with the rest of super ideal sellers. There are some private ones like Michael Trio, Les Precieux and etc, literally scattered around Singapore. Make sure to ask or start with JannPaul, get your diamond education and fire up those knowledge to other sellers.

i got mine from Gold Heart for the wedding band.

following are my research:

sookee 14k white gold $1678. yellow gold $1878

Gold heart 18k white/yellow/rose gold $1516

Citigem 14k white/yellow gold $998

sk 14k white gold $1250.

Lee Hwa $2200 platinum.

JP yellow 18k gold $2150

do note that me and my gf prefer yellow gold and we Based on the same design (with of cos slight different)..
and we got to know from Gold heart that yellow/white/rose gold should be the same price and should be marked up price.

I went for a G color for my Soalsfera diamond because the difference is not really obvious to me. Furthermore, they told me solasfera will look whiter because the diamond is brighter.

I guess it really depends on whether you can see the diff. If you can see the difference, then go for a higher one. But if you can't see or you don't mind, you can try F or G. :D

When its alone I do actually see the slight yellowish tinge in the diamond. Dont know whether its psychological effect.

All 3 diamonds are priced pretty similar. Either or will still fit my budget so it should be alright. I'm alittle more sensitive to the color so I decided on the D color.

Price won't be one of the considering factor because all 3 are about $500 off.. The 0.59 D VS1 is the best option, nothing else below a VS1 currently.

These are the scope images for the 3 Octagon I shortlist. I am going for the 0.59 D.

I do see a slight yellowish tint after paying attention to it when I went back for the second time to confirm another diamond, and asked to see another G colored diamond.
It might be psychology effect as you said, with our mind playing a prank on us, since we know the color of diamond has slight yellowish tint lol.

Don't think it is psychological effect. It does have yellowish tint on certain lights. It is harder to tell otherwise. And for some people, their colour perceptions are sharper.
