GIA certified.

Setting and ring MIJ
watched before that japan's diamond industry is pretty bad. really high markups and poor quality.

other than the fact that it is IF and platinum 2.8k i feel is a little steep. have you seen the scopes?

get only if you really want IF and the design is something you like and only they can provide.

I think even in singapore, diamonds are sold that way. Lots of people are buying diamonds without much knowledge and even misunderstand diamonds are all the same.

If it wasnt for De Beers, diamonds are probably as cheap as CZ. After all, diamonds are common as compared to precious metals.

$2,853 for 0.28 carat, E color, internally flawless, excellent cut, polish and symmetry on platinum ring ok anot?

depends alot on the other factors. any florescence? how are the scopes like? how much is the diamond on its own? say the setting cost you $500, the diamond for $2,353 seems a little on the high side, most prob because of the IF grading. was once told however that the IF would only be more worth it on stones of a bigger size because the flaws would be alot more visible. for a 0.28 you'd most probably be better off with a lower grade stone at a more competitive price.

Platinum does cost more. and IF is really not that uncommon for a small stone. the bigger the stone, the harder it is to find one without inclusions. lots of small stones are VVS or IF clarity, compared to larger stones.

I would say not worth it. it probably cost around 1.8k to 2k for a fair price.

IIRC it's about 1.5 for the diamond, 1.3 for setting/ring.

This is how it looks

Made an appointment for Sunday and when we arrived, we were promptly assisted by Jerome. Like many here, we were new and didn’t know much about diamonds even after researching on the internet for good 2 weeks burning midnite oil...

The session was like what the bros here say, useful and fruitful. It was wayyyyy easier than when we try to study it ourselves online. Equipped with the knowledge imparted to us we confidently made the purchase on the spot. GF already set eyes on Octagon before going anyway lol (easier for me)
*thanks for all the videos shared here*

I thought only i choose diamond ring with gf. when arrived at the store then i realize i am not alone =:p

Summary of our trip down:

1. Professionalism & Good Service
Each detail is explained and at great lengths, simple to understand
+ Absolute peace of mind for my purchase

2. Good Selection of Diamonds
After knowing more on the difference of color and clarity, we were able to find the piece that fits our desired range
+ We get to see many different carat size and color and clarity

3. Customization
We prepared some design beforehand and requested to also discuss about design
+ There were 3D customization available. Ease of mind again!

This is what i send to JP and waiting for 3D now :)

This looks like Venus Tears ring, from when i looked for engagement ring back then. The diamond is loose? Or already set? I find their design to be intricate, nice for the ladies. Not so for my SO.

anyone know the price range for engagement ring from Love and Co?

Depends on diamond size and setting. Best to go down to one of their stores and ask. They offer customisations as well.

yes, it is very attractive. Venus Tears design are mostly for those refined/intricate/feminine. and they offered pink diamonds as well which are rare to see locally. my SO loved two similar designs from them at first but she wanted a bigger diamond, about 1 carat. and those designs in Venus Tears were not compatible to larger carat diamonds. so our options got limited.

just to help others on this forum, here are some jewelry stores we went to see for engagement rings (and our potential wedding bands). not all local stores are listed below, only those i can remember. some cater for engagement ring, some for wedding bands while most sell both... this is just for your information. use this as a guide to shop around. i have included signature diamonds from other well-known companies in brackets) for reference. once again, please use this as a guide only, not sorted based on their quality or work. p.s. i am not vouching for any of their work :zonia:

- Tiffany & Co
- Harry Winston
- Cartier
- Bvlgari
- Van Cleef & Arpels
- Piaget
- Chaumet
- Boucheron
- DeGem
- Mauboussin
- Chopard
- Damiani
- Luk Fook
- Chow Tai Fook
- H. Sena
- Larry (& Lazare)
- JannPaul (& Solasfera)
- Lee Hwa (& Destinee & ForeverMark)
- Goldheart (& Celestial)
- Soo Kee (& Brilliant Rose)
- TianPo (& Hearts on Fire)
- Venus Tears
- Love and Co
- Michael Trio
- Gem by Gems
- The Jewel Box
- Ling Jewellery
- Les Precieux
- Choo Yilin
- L'Excellence
- Vivo Diamonds
- Fairy's Inc
- Canary
- Poh Heng
- SK (& Allove)
- Citigems
- Meyson
- Yuen Tung Wah Kee
- eClarity

for web stores, they are far too many. i can only recommend Whiteflash, Brian Gavin and James Allen.

didnt buy from Tiffany and Co. but spent literally days with my SO going from one branch to the next... their diamonds are certified in house, i find that highly suspicious. however, most girls dont care what diamond they are getting once they hear Tiffany and Co... or Harry Winston. it is after all "Tiffany and Co".

got to give it to De Beers to implant the idea of diamonds and how important and forever they are... plus Tiffany for successfully creating the beautiful blue ring box.

in terms of service, Tiffany is great though. from memory, i think you will get free cleaning for lifetime and whatever superlative services. and they have lots of branches worldwide.

Haha thanks for the info. Saw a ring within my budget 6.7k tiffany cut, 0.43 carat G grade.
I know same price Jp can get 0.5 with D grade
