Hi guys, wanted to ask for your opinions for this diamond, thanks in advance!
Sorry can't post links/images so have to add Https in front of the links manually.

They look really good. I think JannPaul's SIC Round diamonds are really top notch, all the scope images are very close.
The below are the scope images of the diamond i bought. I wanted mine to be high colour & clarity. I couldn't spot any inclusions / asymmetry from the scope images. Would like to seek forumers' opinion also?

Could you share the GIA report of your diamond? Or the serial number would do. I am curious to find out the proportions of cut for my own research

If you guys want to add this to the JP list, 1.59c SIC G VS1 is 26.9k

@freewilly5000 I can’t upload pic yet but here it is as per your request

My previous e-ring was a super ideal too and had a much better color than this one but somehow that one was not as popular and this one always grab attention

Is this from JP? What kind of price range did they offer for 1.5 carat and above?

It's an AGS diamond from JP. AGS 104104836009

HCA is good 0.7. We were going for a SIC 1.33 earlier but when the new shipment came in last week we switched to this one instead, the difference was quite apparent.

Thanks bro for the work to compile.

Just showed this list to my friend who does jewellery wholesale... she says they can get diamonds with the same specs based on GIA cert, at least 20% cheaper. Only problem is you cannot see the stone before buying la. But if it's based on GIA grading, should be quite safe right?

Reading thru the forum u will know that a GIA triple excellent grading is next to worthless.

I can get u the same stones with same specs at a discount too but does it perform as well?

Sounds like eC****** to me lol.

Based on GIA Certs specs, you can even get from places like Bluenile. Also definitely cheaper than JP. But one look at the images and you'll know they (Bluenile diamonds) are crap as compared to JP's.

Here, for your comparison.
My Diamond (0.31, S$1900~) VS Bluenile (0.30, $1,356~ before shipping) VS BlueNile Diamond (0.40, $1,653~ before shipping)
Mine vs Bluenile (GIA: 2344556521) vs Bluenile (GIA: 6322279095)
Color: E | D | D
Clarity: VS2 | VS1 | VS1
Carat: 0.31 | 0.30 | 0.40
Table: 57 | 57 | 57
Depth: 61.5 | 61.5 | 61.5
Crown: 34.5 | 34.5 | 34.0
Crown Height: 15.0 | 15.0 | 14.5
Pavilion: 40.8 | 40.8 | 41.4
Pavilion Depth: 43.0 | 43.0 | 44.0
Clarity Characteristics: Crystal, Pinpoint, Needle | Crystal, Cloud, Pinpoint | Cloud, Pinpoint
All triple excellent, no florescence.
(If you realised, the 0.30 carat bluenile diamond is almost identical to mine in terms of specs)

Picture of mine vs Picture of the diamond from Bluenile
Mine:
cUcNpqB.jpg

Bluenile (0.30):
kbigNVy.png

Bluenile (0.40):
qqTP2lf.png

Almost 13% cheaper, and 0.1 carat bigger and better color and clarity.
OR around 28% cheaper, and 0.01 carat smaller, better color and clarity.
Honestly, worth it?

Of course you can argue that Bluenile takes shittier picture, and JP takes better picture. Could potentially be true, idk. You're free to rotate the diamonds around in Bluenile website. So feel free to rotate it around.

Yes, I bought my SIC from JP.
In the beginning I enquired for a 1.8ct F VS1 which they quoted at $39.2k
I ended up with a 2ct E.

And then after a year I decided to upgrade to 2.5ct G VS2.
I am not comfortable sharing how much I paid for mine but a 2.7ct E VS2 was quoted at $78k. At that time it was the largest they had in stock but I did not like the numbers (crown angle of 33 and pav angle of 41) and when I saw it in person I did not fall in love.

I was actually looking for a 2.7ct to 3ct for the upgrade but nothing else was available. After waiting for a few months the 2.52ct became available and I really liked all the numbers (crown angle 34.6, pav angle 40.8, table 55.8, depth 61.5 and lgf 76), I decided to go with it.

Mine is definitely below the price of the 2.7ct as mine is smaller and with lower color but hopefully it gives you a range of pricing for 1.8ct to 2.7ct

In terms of the fire / bling (sorry I forgot the right term) , would you guys go for the sic or solersfera? According to the sales person, the sic is more concentrated and in blocks and for solersfera it is more scattered and disco-like.. there's a 20-30% price difference.. Which one would be recommended? I have seen the diamonds but couldnt really decide on which

Oh yes it definitely does. We were planning to upgrade to a 1.5 this year, but were wondering what the prices are like beyond that as the list in the thread only offers up to 1.56. :s22: I suppose they had a fee charged to "Reset" the entire ring? Or did the whole ring have to be recrafted due to the upsize?

Congrats! Is the upgrade for a special anniversary?
Any specific color and clarity that you are looking for?

I dont know if this is the norm or not but in my case, I returned my old ring setting (a plain platinum setting) to them that they valued at certain amount so I did not pay full amount for the new ring setting (another plain platinum setting).

No occasion. We just decided that we preferred a larger stone. The ring and diamond is really new. I suppose they will take in the diamond at it's original retail value (as its under 3mth). Looking at a VS2, G colour too. That is good enough.

I wonder what would they do with the current white gold pave band, they might probably use it to reset/recraft into a new ring (my guess).. I figured for your case, they might have just reset it into the current band. Did they inform you of that?

Also from your experience, did they have lots of selection above 1.5 carats? The sales service at JP are awesome in face, but pretty slow in response offline :(

Mine is a Solasfera 0.6ct. I liked the Solasfera for the extra overall bling and it just made the ring look very sparkly. I told me husband I didnt want anything over 0.7ct because it was way too big on my hand after I tried it on. And in my line of work, its not convenient to wear something too big. So he ended up having some savings and got me the Solasfera.

I've gotten many compliments for it and even referred many of my frens to JP that bought the Solasfera too. I should start charging commission to JP :s13:

Back then, they had very few stocks for the Solasfera and the choices was limited. Is it still the same now?

Anyway, here are some pic and vid of my ring.

wow.. 3 month is very recent indeed. Have you tried on a 1.5ct one?
Yes, they will take the diamond at the original price you bought less 7% GST. Even if you decided to upgrade after a few years, they will still take it at the original price - GST.

And yes, G VS2 is a very good value for money. I can definitely see the color difference between my previous E and my current G, but G is still very white from the top and SIC is super sparkly. I bet no one else would be able to see the difference once it's worn.

In my case, they did not reuse my old setting for my new one because I only gave my old ring and certificate when I collected my new ring. I explicitly requested that as I don't want to have a waiting period where I won't be wearing any e-Ring.
But I guess if you don't mind they can reuse the white gold and the small diamonds pave from your old ring to make a new ring for you and in that case maybe you can negotiate to pay only for the labour cost?

I believe should have quite a few options available for 1.5ct. It's probably harder to find 1.8-1.9ct range but 1.5ct shouldn't be an issue. You can also request for them to check if their cutter have any upcoming diamond currently in production that may fall within your spec. @tostring just got a 1.59ct G VS2 from their recent shipment so I think they should have some other new stocks too.

Who's your Sales person at JP? I found them to be quite responsive and will reply to my email within the same day or H+1 at max

For JP purchases, how many cleaning services is available? I can't remember was it the re-sizing or cleaning (free) was limited?
