Damn that's sick. Can't wait for part 2. They started doing videos for clients portfolio stuff too right? Seems like Jannpaul really upping their game lately with new diamond cuts and all that.

I know why ;) I saw Paul back in JP. Jerome told me he's been away for many years

Experts, could you guys please help to see if the following is a good price for its specs. Not too sure how to get the HCA scores because when I input the GIA/AGS # it says error. TIA.

1) 0.41 G VVS1 $2,650 Super Ideal Cut

GIA 7311294128

2) 0.474 E VS1 $3,500 Cushion Brellia

AGS 104108001001

By the way, what's the biggest carat I can possibly get with a $4k budget if colour and clarity are lowered to G VS2?

HCA doesn’t work for cushion.
For the first stone, u can enter exact proportions instead.

For $4k, u can get up to 0.5c
0.56 G VVS2 $3,300 (ideal)
0.58 E VS2 $3,500 (ideal)
0.51 G VVS2 - $3,500
0.54 F VS1 - $3,850
0.58 G VS2 $3850 (ideal)
0.53 E VS1 - $3,900

Thank you Miltah for the fast reply. :)

For the first stone, here is the HCA score: https://imgur.com/a/UTEn4Je

Thanks for the list of comparison for the 0.5ct range that fits a $4k budget. I will make another trip down and see if I can find some of it in 0.5ct range.

If between the two stone, which do you think is a better deal?

Appreciate your comments :)

Hard to say. 2 different shapes. It’s like asking if I like chicken or duck rice :s13:

Cushions theoretically are cheaper but here u paying a premium for a patent cut. Then there’s also the color difference....
It is more likely to get a ‘better’ deal with an ideal or SIC as opposed to a cushion

Jannpaul does photo imposing right? See what looks best for her finger first, then decide on the specs after, they also perform quite different visually. Brellia has bolder larger fire compared to SIC round. And the obvious is its shape.

Thank you for your input :)

So you would think an ideal or SIC round brilliant to be a better deal overall than a cushion, yeah. I was looking at these two because I was thinking of having a halo as well, and pictures on Pinterest are mostly these two shapes with halo that looks good... but now the dilemma.

Yes, they do. I have already sent an image of her hand to the sale staff who suggested they could super-impose the ring on her hand so I could visualise better, but until now I did not receive any photo leh. :spin:

True, but because I was thinking of adding a halo that's why I am looking at these two shapes instead.

Brellia halo is definitely nicer. Cushion halos in general has a nicer shape to it.

Thanks ThiamWan for your input. :)

But it looks like the Brellia I got offered is not as good of a deal than the Round Brilliant?

That might be due to the brellia being bigger. I know those high .4x+ are rare sizes cos the next price jump is 0.50. Or you can ask if they have a spec more similar to the round.

Thanks ThiamWan for the explanation. :)

I see, maybe I’ll ask for a specs more similar to the Round Brilliant ba and see what they have to offer.

Not sure if anyone posted this. But has someone consolidated all the custom design for engagement rings?

Would like to see them all!
